THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

Council do hereby resolve as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £80 (being 10 per cent. additional on a loan of £800), authorised to be raised by the Featherston County Council, under the provisions of subsection (3) of section 68 of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for metalling Ponatahi and Riverside Roads and erection of a bridge over the Hua-ngarua River within the Martinborough Riding, the Featherston County Council hereby makes and levies an additional rate of ½d. in the pound on the rateable value of all rateable properties in the Waitawatautau Special-rating District, as described in the New Zealand Gazette of the 18th day of May, 1906; such rate to be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the 1st day of July in each and every year, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off. The rate of interest to be at the rate of 4 per cent. per annum. Also that the foregoing resolution be confirmed at a meeting of the Council to be held on the 12th day of October, 1906.

I certify that the foregoing resolution was passed at a special meeting of the Council held on Friday, the 31st day of August, 1906, and confirmed as a special order at a subsequent meeting held on Friday, the 12th day of October, 1906.

PAHIATUA COUNTY COUNCIL.

Special Order authorising Raising of Loan No. 74.

THAT the Council authorise, by way of special order, the raising of a loan of £200, under subsection (4) of section 14 of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for the following purposes: (1) To purchase half a chain of land 22 chains long on the eastern side of Riccarton Road to make the said road a chain road from the Tiraumea Road to Chatham Street; (2) to shift the fence on the eastern side of the road to include the said half-chain; (3) to form, drain, culvert, and metal the said road, including all necessary inlets and offsets to culverts.

I hereby certify that the above special order was duly made and passed at a special meeting of the Pahiatua County Council held on the 4th day of August, 1906, and confirmed at a meeting of the said Council on the 8th day of September, 1906.

Special Order striking Special Rate, Loan No. 74.

That, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Pahiatua County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of £200, authorised to be raised by the Pahiatua County Council, under the provisions of the above-named Act, for the following purposes—(1) to purchase half a chain of land 22 chains long on the eastern side of Riccarton Road to make the said road a chain road from the Tiraumea Road to Chatham Street (at an agreed price of £50 per acre); (2) to shift fence on the eastern side of the road to include the said half-chain; (3) to form, drain, culvert, and metal the said road, including all necessary inlets and offsets to culverts—the said Pahiatua County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 2½d. in the pound on the unimproved rateable value of all lands in the Riccarton Road Special-rating District—viz., Lots 192, 184, 181, 182, 179, 180, 1, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11 of Section 28; Block VIII, Mangahao Survey District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, at 4 per cent. per annum, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the above special order was duly made and passed at a special meeting of the Pahiatua County Council held on the 8th day of September, 1906, and confirmed at a meeting of the said Council on the 6th day of October, 1906.

Special Order striking Special Rate, Loan No. 72.

That, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Pahiatua County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of £250, authorised to be raised by the Pahiatua County Council, under the provisions of the above-named Act, for the purpose of erecting a light-traffic bridge over the Mangatainoka River on the Fukewhai Road (in conjunction with a Government grant), the said Pahiatua County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ⅜d. in the pound on the (unimproved) rateable value of all lands in the Fukewhai Bridge Special-rating District—viz., Sections 67, 68, 79, 80, part 81, part 109 (50 acres), Section 110, part 111, Sections 106, 107, Block XIV, and Section 74, Block XIII, all in the Mangahao Survey District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, at 4 per cent. per annum, or until the loan is fully paid off.

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that at a special meeting of the Wellington City Council, duly called, and held in the Town Hall, Wellington, on Thursday, the 20th day of September, 1906, at 7.30 o’clock in the evening, the following resolution (intended to operate as a special order) was proposed, and at an ordinary meeting of the Council held at the said Town Hall on the 18th day of October, 1906, the said resolution was duly confirmed, which said resolution is in the words and figures following, that is to say,—
