Rural Land in Hawke’s Bay Land District open for Sale or Selection.

PLUNKET, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirty-sixth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural land enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on and after the twenty-eighth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and six; and also that the land mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase or on lease in perpetuity, or, in respect of any land containing or supposed to contain any metal, mineral, or valuable stone, be selected on lease in perpetuity only; and I do hereby also fix the price at which the said land shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said land shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1892.”

Weighted with £93, valuation for improvements—bushfelling and fencing.

Bush and open country, with a natural clearing of about 20 acres in native grass. The bush consists principally of stunted black-birch, with a thick undergrowth of makomako and taramoa; 60 acres is felled; undulating and broken land; light pumice soil, resting on limestone rock; well watered by streams. Elevation, from about 2,000 ft. to 3,000 ft. above sea-level. Situated thirty-three miles and a half from Napier, and six miles from Pohui Post-office and hotel. Accessible from the main Napier–Taupo Road, about three miles and a half distant, by a good bridle-track.

Kohinui Stream and its Tributaries, Auckland Land District, notified under “The Timber-floating Act, 1884.”

PLUNKET, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the second section of “The Timber-floating Act, 1884,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify that the undermentioned stream and its tributaries may be used under license for the purposes of the said Act.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.

THE Kohinui Stream and its tributaries, situated in Whangarei County.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twelfth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and six.

Kaikorai River placed under Control of Taieri County Council.

PLUNKET, Governor.

WHEREAS the District Health Officer for the District of Otago has reported that it is in the interests of the public health to issue the notification hereinafter appearing:

Now, therefore, in pursuance of the power and authority conferred by section sixty-two of “The Public Health Act, 1900,” His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand hereby notifies that the Kaikorai River, with its branches and tributary streams, situated in or flowing through the County of Taieri, the Boroughs of Green Island, Mornington, Roslyn, and Maori Hill, in the Provincial District of Otago, is hereby placed under the sole control of the Taieri County Council for the purposes of the said Act.

This notification shall take effect from the twelfth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and six.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twelfth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and six.
