HOROWHENUA COUNTY COUNCIL.

“PUBLIC WORKS ACT, 1905.”—LAND REQUIRED FOR ROAD.

PURSUANT to the provisions of “The Public Works Act, 1905,” it is hereby notified that the Horowhenua County Council requires the land described hereunder for the purpose of a public road. A plan, marked A, showing the position of same will be open for inspection at the County Office, Levin, during office hours for a period of forty days from date hereof. All persons affected by the taking of the land are hereby called upon to set forth in writing any well-grounded objections thereto, and to serve the same upon the County Clerk at Levin before expiration of forty days from date hereof.

DESCRIPTION OF LAND.

All that piece of land, situated in Block IV, Mount Robinson Survey District, being part of 1d, Tuawhakatupua, 1 acre 3 roods 5 perches, coloured blue; part of 1g No. 1, Tuawhakatupua, 2 roods 4·4 perches, coloured purple; and part of Tahitiki Block, 2 acres 1 rood 6·1 perches, coloured pink, and bounded as follows:—
Starting at a point 50 links in a westerly direction from the northernmost boundary of 1d, Tuawhakatupua; thence in a southerly direction to the northern boundary of 2A, Tuawhakatupua; thence 100 links in an easterly direction; and thence in a northerly direction to the Manawatu River through Tahitiki Block: as the same is delineated on plan marked A, now on view for a period of forty days from this date at the County Office, Levin.

Names of owners: We Hare Rakena te Aweawe, Te Manawaroa te Aweawe, Rakiwhata te Aweawe, Te Rewanui Henare, Te Rangimaire te Aweawe, Te Wai Tokorau Teieti, Te Rangi Putangatahi Rahira Mohi, Urapani Mutuahi, Tamati Kawana, Atareta Kawana, Taitoko Wi Matai, Pikihina Wi Matai, Tiweta Whatahoro, Heremaia Maika, Rangi te Rangi, Wikitoria Ratima, and Ratima Ngungu.

MEDICAL REGISTRATION.

I, RICHARD BRIDGMAN WILLIAMS, Lic. Soc. Apoth. Lond. 1892, M.R.C.S. Eng. 1895, L.R.C.P. Lond. 1895, now residing in Wellington, hereby give notice that I intend applying on the 5th November next to have my name placed on the Medical Register for the Colony of New Zealand, and that I have deposited the evidence of my qualification in the office of the Registrar-General.

NOTICE is hereby given—

  1. That the Partnership lately subsisting between us, the undersigned, GEORGE METHVEN, the elder, GEORGE METHVEN, the younger, and WALTER SIDNEY GARDNER, carrying on business as Mechanical Engineers, Iron and Brass Founders, and Blacksmiths, at Crawford Street, Dunedin, under the style or firm of “George Methven and Co.,” has been dissolved by mutual consent from the eighth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and six.
  2. That the said business will be carried on at the said address by the said George Methven, the elder, and Walter Sidney Gardner, under the said style or firm of “George Methven and Co.,” and that the said George Methven, the elder, and Walter Sidney Gardner will pay and discharge all debts and liabilities of the said late firm and receive all moneys due thereto.

NOTICE OF DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership which has for some time past been carried on by GEORGE COLE HILL and DUDLEY HILTON PRIOR, under the style or firm of “George C. Hill and Co.,” at Feilding, in the business of Land Agents, was this day dissolved by mutual consent.

All accounts due to and owing by the late firm will be paid and received by the said George Cole Hill. The business will in future be carried on by the said George Cole Hill alone. As witness our hands.

FOR Deaf Children of sound intellect. The pupils are taught to use and understand ordinary speech. The best age for entrance is between six and seven.
The full charge for board and education is £40 a year, but less is accepted from parents who cannot afford to pay this amount. In case of necessity admission is free. Parents having dumb children between the ages of four and seven, and other persons desiring information with regard to the school, are invited to apply to
