Resuming Land held under Lease for the Purpose of a Scenic Reserve.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by section one hundred and twenty-five of “The Land Act, 1892” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is, inter alia, enacted that the Governor in Council may, by Proclamation, resume possession of any land leased under Part III of the said Act which in his opinion is required for any public purpose:
And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto forms part of land which is held under occupation with right of purchase from His Majesty the King under Part III of the said Act, dated the twentieth day of July, one thousand nine hundred:
And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required for a public purpose—that is to say, for the purpose of a scenic reserve:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by “The Land Act, 1892,” and of all other powers and authorities in any-wise enabling me in this behalf, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, do hereby proclaim and declare that I hereby resume possession of the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto for the public purpose hereinbefore mentioned, the same being part of the land held under occupation with right of purchase as aforesaid; and do also hereby proclaim and declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on the twentieth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and six.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 27 acres 1 rood 30 perches, more or less, being Section No. 2A (formerly part of Section No. 2), Block X, Orahiri Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west by Section No. 2, Block X, Orahiri Survey District; towards the north-east by Section No. 7 of the said Block X to the left bank of the Waitomo River, by a right line to the westernmost corner of Section Part 6, containing 90½ acres, in the said Block X, and by the last-mentioned section to the Waitomo Valley Road; towards the south and towards the west by the said Waitomo Valley Road: exclusive of a track 50 links wide which is within the above-described area: be the aforesaid linkage more
or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 51624/56, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.

Defining the Middle Line of a Further Portion of the Lawrence-Roxburgh Railway.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the Lawrence-Roxburgh Railway—namely, an extension of the Lawrence Branch Railway to Beaumont (hereinafter termed “the said railway”)—is a railway the construction of which is authorised by “The Railways Authorisation Act, 1904”: And whereas the said railway has been partly constructed, and it has been determined to construct and maintain a further portion of the same:
Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred by “The Public Works Act, 1905,” and in exercise of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle line of the said further portion of the said railway shall be that defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
LAWRENCE-ROXBURGH RAILWAY.
COMMENCING at a point in Section 1, Block III, Tuapeka West Survey District, about 6 chains in a northerly direction from the southern boundary thereof, which point is also the termination of a previous portion of the Lawrence-Roxburgh Railway, as described in a Proclamation dated the 7th day of December, 1905, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 109, of the 14th December, 1905; proceeding thence generally in a north-westerly direction for a distance of about three miles, and passing in, into, through, or over the following lands—viz., Section 1, railway reserve, Section 29, railway reserve, Sections 49, 66, 57, 56, 68, and railway reserve, all in Block III, Tuapeka West Survey District—and terminating in said railway reserve at a point distant about 32 chains in an easterly direction from the north-western corner of Section 53, Block III, Tuapeka West Survey District: including all adjoining and intervening places, lands, reserves, roads, tracks, rivers, streams, and watercourses: all in the Land District of Otago: as the same is delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 22199, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington.
