In the Otago Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked 14617, sheets 1, 2, and 3, deposited in the office of the Minister for Railways, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington, and thereon coloured purple, green, orange, and red.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this first day of September, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and six.

Crown Lands reserved under “The Scenery Preservation Act, 1903.”

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by “The Scenery Preservation Act, 1903” (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), it is, inter alia, enacted that the Governor may appoint a Commission who may inspect any lands possessing scenic or historic interest, or on which there may be thermal springs, and report thereon to the Governor, with recommendations as to what lands should be reserved as scenic, thermal, or historic reserves: And whereas such Commission was duly appointed, and, after inspection, recommended that the parcels of land described in the Schedule hereunder should be permanently reserved for scenic purposes, and it is expedient to give effect to such recommendation:
Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers contained in the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the parcels of land described in the Schedule hereunder shall be reserved under and subject to the provisions of the said Act.
SCHEDULE.
All that area in the Southland Land District, containing by admeasurement 40 acres 2 roods, more or less, being Section No. 135ε (Edendale Settlement), Block I, Mataura Hundred. Bounded towards the north by the Main Trunk Railway Reserve; towards the east by the abuttal of a public road and by Section No. 88ε (Edendale Settlement), Block I, Mataura Hundred; towards the south by the said Section No. 88ε; and towards the west by Allotment No. 243 (Land Transfer Plan 158).
Also all that area in the Southland Land District, containing by admeasurement 165 acres, more or less, being Section No. 134ε (Edendale Settlement), Block V, Lothian Hundred. Bounded towards the north-east generally by Section No. 84ε (Edendale Settlement), Block V, Lothian Hundred; towards the south-east by the Main Trunk Railway Reserve; and towards the west by a public road.
As the same are delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 55248/3, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twelfth day of September, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and six.
