THE following special order, made by the Horowhenua County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

HOROWHENUA COUNTY COUNCIL.
Special Order.—Ohau Subway.—Special Meeting on 10th March, 1906.
THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf relating to special orders, and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and the several amendments thereof, the Horowhenua County Council resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing interest at 5 per cent. and other charges on a loan of £300, authorised to be raised by the Horowhenua County Council, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” clause 14, subsection (4), and Amendment Act, 1903, clause 8, subsection (a), for the purpose of constructing a subway underneath the Wellington-Manawatu Railway line on the Muhunoa East Road, in the Ohau Subway Special-rating District, comprised in the following sections—109, 88/93, 95/6, 3, 4, 55, 53, 63/4, 98, 99, 17/21, 60, 67/9, 77/9, 80/4, 51, 52, 59, 5, 72/4, 14, 11/13, 15, 26/7, 29, 42, 45, 28, 43, 46, 49, 54, 36, 47, 37/40, 44, 50, 61, 56, and part 57, 30, 24, 25, 62, 65, 66, 75/6, 70, 71, 106/7, and part 103, 102, 108, 97, 100, 101, 94, part 103, 104, 105, 1, 2, 16, 34, 35, 31, 32, 33, 41, part 57, 85, 86, 87, Township of Ohau; and Sections 34, 35/6, 47, and 51, 50, 52, part 46, 48, Native reserve, 40, 42, 44, part 46, 45 and part 37, part 37, 38, part 36A, 39, 41, parts 9 and 43 (2), 48, 49, and part Muhunoa No. 1, Block V, Waiopenu; Section 54, Block IX, Waiopenu; Section 52A, Block VI, Waiopenu; and Sections 53, 55, Block X, Waiopenu—the said Horowhenua County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ⅓d. in the pound upon the rateable valuation of all rateable properties in the Ohau Subway Special-rating District, or as more particularly set forth in the ratepayers’ consent and plan: and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-six years, or until the loan is fully paid off. This special order to be confirmed at a subsequent meeting to be held on the 14th day of April, 1906.
Subsequent Meeting, 14th April, 1906.—Confirmation of Special Order.—Ohau Subway Special District.
That the special order made on the 10th day of March, 1906, making a special rate of ⅓d. in the pound upon the rateable valuation of all rateable properties in Ohau Subway Special-rating District for a loan of £300 for the purpose of constructing a subway underneath the Wellington-Manawatu Railway Company’s line on the Muhunoa East Road, in the said special district, as previously stated and published, be now confirmed.

Special Order made by the Council of the Borough of Oamaru.

THE following special order, made by the Oamaru Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

OAMARU BOROUGH COUNCIL.
PUBLIC notice is hereby given that at a special meeting of the Oamaru Borough Council, held for the purpose, in the Council Chambers, Thames Street, Oamaru, on Tuesday, the 19th day of June, 1906, at 7.30 p.m., the following resolution was passed by way of special order:—
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and “The Oamaru Borough Council Loan Act, 1905,” the Oamaru Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £4,000, authorised to be raised by the Oamaru Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of erecting a Town Hall and municipal offices in the Borough of Oamaru, the said Oamaru Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1½d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Oamaru; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 28th day of May and the 28th day of November in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
And notice is hereby also given that the said resolution will be submitted to a special meeting of the said Council to be held in the Borough Council Chambers, Thames Street, Oamaru, on Friday, the 20th day of July, 1906, at 5.15 p.m., for confirmation as a special order.

Special Order made by the Council of the Borough of Carterton.

THE following special order, made by the Carterton Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

BOROUGH OF CARTERTON.
Loan of £1,000.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Carterton Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £1,000, authorised to be raised by the Carterton Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for completing the drainage-works in the No. 1 Drainage District of the Borough of Carterton, the said Carterton Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ⅓d. in the pound on the capital value of all rateable property in the No. 1 Drainage Special-rating District of the Borough of Carterton, comprising part of the Sections Nos. 1 to 29 (inclusive) on the plan of the Township of Carterton, and part Sections Nos. 142, 143, and 205 to 214 (inclusive) on the plan of the Taratahi Plain Block; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of January and the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
