MY LORD,—With reference to my predecessor’s despatch No. 76, of the 9th November, 1904, I have the honour to acquaint you, for the information of your Ministers, that consequent on a reorganization of the Consular service of the Argentine Republic the jurisdiction of the Vice-Consul of that country at Dunedin is now defined to include all New Zealand.
- The exequatur empowering Mr. Thomas Fergus to act as Vice-Consul at Dunedin, with jurisdiction over New Zealand, has received His Majesty’s signature.

OHAUPO DRAINAGE BOARD.
In the matter of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and its amendments, and of “The Land Drainage Act, 1904.”
SPECIAL ORDER made by the Ohaupo Drainage Board by resolution passed by way of special order at a special meeting of the said Board held on Monday, the 25th day of June, 1906, and confirmed at a subsequent meeting of the said Board held on Friday, the 27th day of July, 1906:—
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Ohaupo Drainage Board hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £900, authorised to be raised by the Ohaupo Drainage Board, under the provisions of the above Act, for the purpose of executing drainage-works within the Ohaupo Drainage District, including the cost of raising such loan, the said Ohaupo Drainage Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1½d. in the pound on the rateable value of lands classed as receiving or supposed to receive immediate and direct benefit from the construction of drainage-works, and of 1d. in the pound on the rateable value of lands classed as receiving or supposed to receive less direct benefit from such drainage-works, and of ½d. in the pound on the rateable value of lands receiving only an indirect benefit from drainage-works; such rate to be on all rateable property of the Ohaupo Drainage District, comprising all that area in the Auckland Land District, situated in Ngaroto Parish, Hamilton Survey District, bounded towards the north by Section No. 338, Ngaroto Parish, from the south-western corner of the said Section No. 338 to a public road forming the western boundary of Section No. 322; thence towards the east by the said road forming the western boundaries of the said Section No. 322 and Sections 323 and 324 to the southern side of a road intersecting the first-mentioned road and forming the southern boundaries of Sections Nos. 324, 324A, and 95; thence again towards the north by the last-mentioned road to the northernmost corner of Section No. 309; thence again towards the east by the said Section No. 309 and by Section No. 310 to the south-western corner of the said Section No. 310; thence towards the south and again towards the east by Section No. 325 to the southernmost corner of the said Section No. 325; thence towards the south by a public road forming the northern boundaries of Sections Nos. 284, 285, 295, 300, 300A, 135, 134, 133, 143, and 142 to the south-eastern corner of Section No. 160; thence towards the west by the said Section No. 160 and by Section No. 159 to the northernmost corner of the last-mentioned section; thence towards the north-west by a public road forming the south-eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 153, 869, 367, and 385 to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary-line of Section No. 380A (a closed road); thence by a right line across a public road to the said south-eastern boundary-line of the said Section No. 380A, and by that boundary-line to a point in line with the eastern boundary-line of Section No. 381; thence by a right line to the south-eastern corner of the said Section No. 381; thence by the said Section No. 381 and by Section No. 371 to the place of commencement: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 31st day of March and the 30th day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

THE following special order, made by the Manawatu County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

MANAWATU COUNTY COUNCIL.
THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Manawatu County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £500 sterling, authorised to be raised by the Manawatu County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the construction of two bridges on the Feilding-Awahuri Road, the said Manawatu County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 3½d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Mount Stewart Special-rating District No. 2, comprising all the rateable property within the Riding of Mount Stewart, County of Manawatu; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
