THE following special order, made by the Horowhenua County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

SPECIAL ORDER, TOKOMARU VALLEY.

Special Meeting, 10th March, 1906.

THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf relating to special orders, and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and the several amendments thereof, the Horowhenua County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing interest at 4 per cent. and other charges on a loan of £2,500, authorised to be raised by the Horowhenua County Council, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” clause 14, subsection (4), for the purpose of widening the Tokomaru Valley Road in the Tokomaru Valley Special-rating District, comprised in the following sections—Section 5, Block XI, Arawaru: Sections 3, Block XI; 4 and 7, Block XI; 1, Block XI; 2, Block XI; Sections 6, 8, 10, Block XI, Arawaru: Sections 9, 14, Block XVI, Mount Robinson: Section 9, Block XI; Section 15, Block XI, Arawaru: Section 10, Block XVI, Mount Robinson: Section 11, Block XVI, Mount Robinson: Part 14, Block IX, Arawaru: 13 and Part 14 and Section 16, Block IX, Arawaru—the said Horowhenua County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 2⅜d. in the pound upon the rateable valuation of all rateable properties in the Tokomaru Valley Special-rating District, or as more particularly set forth in the ratepayers’ consent and plan: and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off. This special order to be confirmed at a subsequent meeting to be held on the 14th day of April, 1906.

I certify the above to be a copy of the said special order.

CONFIRMATION OF SPECIAL ORDER, TOKOMARU VALLEY SPECIAL DISTRICT.

Subsequent Meeting, 14th April, 1906.

That the special order made on the 10th day of March, 1906, making a special rate of 2⅜d. in the pound upon the rateable valuation of all rateable properties in the Tokomaru Valley Special-rating District for a loan of £2,500, for the purpose of widening the Tokomaru Valley Road in the said special district, as previously stated and published, be now confirmed.

I certify the foregoing to be a copy of the confirmation of the special Tokomaru Valley Special-rating District.

THE following special order, made by the Feilding Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

BOROUGH OF FEILDING.

Special Order making Special Rate.

WHEREAS on the 9th day of April, 1906, the Chief Health Officer, acting in exercise of the powers conferred on him by “The Public Health Act, 1900,” recommended the construction of certain drainage, sewerage, and other sanitary work in the Borough of Feilding: And whereas the Minister of Public Health did, on the 7th day of May, 1906, approve of the construction of such works: And whereas it has been estimated that such works will cost at least £2,500 to construct: Now, in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by “The Public Health Act, 1900,” “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and of every and any other power enabling them in that behalf, the Council of the Borough of Feilding do hereby resolve as follows:—

  1. That, for the purpose of constructing the works before referred to, a loan of £2,500 be raised by the issue of debentures for that amount, payable in twenty years, and bearing interest at the rate of £5 per centum per annum, and secured by a special rate, such debentures and the coupons for interest being made payable in Sydney, in the State of New South Wales.

  2. That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on the aforesaid loan of £2,500, authorised to be raised by the Council of the Borough of Feilding, under the before-mentioned Acts, for drainage, sewerage, and other sanitary works, the said Council of the Borough of Feilding hereby makes and levies a special rate of ¼d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Feilding, comprising the area within the following boundaries—namely, all that area in the Land District of Wellington bounded towards the north generally by Section No. 184, Block XIV, Oroua Survey District, from its south-western corner to the Railway Reserve; thence by the production of the southern boundary-line of the said Section No. 184 to the eastern side of Makino Road; thence by the said Makino Road to the south-western corner of Section No. 162; thence by Sections Nos. 162, 173, 174, 175, 176, and 177 to Reid’s Road Line; thence by the production of the eastern boundary-line of the last-mentioned section to the north-eastern side of the said Reid’s Road Line; thence by the north-eastern side of that road-line to the south-eastern side of Kimbolton Road: thence towards the east generally by the south-eastern side of the said Kimbolton Road to the Kiwitea Stream; thence by the left bank of the said Kiwitea Stream to the confluence of the said Kiwitea Stream with the Oroua River; thence by the said Oroua River to the Railway Reserve: thence towards the south generally by the said Railway Reserve to South Street; thence by the south side of South Street to Awahuri Road; thence by the east side of Awahuri Road to a point in line with the southern boundary-line of Section No. 85, Block XIV aforesaid;
