Plants declared to be Noxious Weeds in the Akaroa and Wainui and the Le Bon’s Bay Road Districts, and in the County of Mackenzie.—Notice No. 1046.

IT is hereby notified for public information that the undermentioned local governing bodies have by special order declared the plants enumerated opposite each to be noxious weeds within the meaning of “The Noxious Weeds Act, 1900,” in the district under the jurisdiction of each respectively:—

Akaroa and Wainui Road Board Bathurst burr, broom, giant burdock, gorse, hakea, ragwort or ragweed, fennel, hemlock, ox-eye daisy, St. John’s wort, star thistle, and milk or French thistle,
Le Bon’s Bay Road Board .. Bathurst burr, broom, giant burdock, gorse, hakea, ragwort or ragweed, dock, burdock, any species of stemless thistle, common plume or Scotch thistle, woolly-headed thistle, star thistle, milk thistle, lupin, pennyroyal, hemlock, wild turnip, ox-eye daisy, St. John’s wort, tutsan, fennel, periwinkle, elderberry, kangaroo acacia, viper’s bugloss, and wild borage.

Applications for Inspecting Engineer, Mines Department.

APPLICATIONS are invited for the position of Inspecting Engineer, Mines Department.

Applicants are required to state experience, and must hold a first-class mine-manager’s certificate under either the Mining Act or the Coal-mines Act, and must also be a licensed surveyor of New Zealand.

Salary, £500 per annum; limit of age, fifty years.

Applications addressed to the Under-Secretary for Mines, Wellington, will be received up to noon of Monday, the 6th August, 1906.
