Revocation of Appointment of Bonding Warehouse.

CUSTOMS.—In exercise of the authority in me for this purpose vested, I, the Commissioner of Trade and Customs, do by this order under my hand revoke and annul the appointment of the undermentioned warehouse for the reception and security of goods entered to be warehoused without payment of duty upon the first entry thereof, namely,—

Port of Oamaru.

The warehouse known as

OAMARU BOND,

as appointed and described in Commissioner’s Order No. 351, of the 12th day of November, 1889.

Approving and Appointing a Bonding Warehouse.

CUSTOMS.—In exercise of the powers in me for this purpose vested by “The Customs Laws Consolidation Act, 1882,” I, the Commissioner of Trade and Customs, do hereby approve and appoint the undermentioned warehouse to be a warehouse for the reception of goods under bond, namely:—

Port of Wellington.

The second floor of a brick building, roofed with iron, known as Kennedy’s Buildings, situated in Lower Cuba Street, City of Wellington, to be known as

HARRIS’S TOBACCO-FACTORY.

Notice to Mariners No. 56 of 1906.

LIGHTSHIP IN BLUFF HARBOUR.

Wellington, N.Z., 16th July, 1906.

THE Bluff Harbour Board notifies masters of vessels entering Bluff Harbour that the lightship shown on chart at entrance to Bluff Harbour, and which sank some months ago, has not been replaced. The Board has under consideration a scheme of lighting which will comprise a light at the position formerly occupied by the lightship, but until the scheme is adopted the place will be temporarily marked by a black buoy without light.

Taranaki Scholarships.

Education Department,

THE following rules for the award of a scholarship under “The Taranaki Scholarships Act, 1905,” are published for general information:—

RULES.

(1.) One scholarship shall be offered in December, 1906.
(2.) The scholarship shall be awarded on the results of the Junior Scholarship Examination of the University.
(3.) Candidates shall enter for the Junior Scholarship Examinations in the manner prescribed for candidates for University Junior Scholarships.
(4.) A candidate for a Taranaki scholarship shall pay the same fee as if he were a candidate for a University Junior Scholarship, but shall pay only one fee if he is a candidate for both scholarships.

Notice fixing Closing-hours of Drapers’, General Storekeepers’, and Boot and Shoe Dealers’ Shops in the Town District of Rotorua under the Shops and Offices Act.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of the drapers’, general storekeepers’, and boot and shoe dealers’ shops in the Town District of Rotorua, has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops in the town district shall be closed at 6 p.m. on four days of the week, 10 p.m. on one day, and at 1 p.m. on one day: And whereas the Rotorua Town Board has certified that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the drapers’, of all the general storekeepers’, and of all the boot and shoe dealers’ shops in the town district:

Now, therefore, I, William Hall-Jones, the Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 21 of “The Shops and Offices Act, 1904,” and section 5 of “The Shops and Offices Act Amendment Act, 1905,” do hereby direct that from and after the 1st day of August, 1906, all drapers’, general storekeepers’, and boot and shoe dealers’ shops in the Rotorua Town District shall be closed accordingly at 6 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, at 10 p.m. on Saturdays, and at 1 p.m. on Wednesdays (the statutory half-holiday).
