Appointing District Valuers under “The Government Valuation of Land Act, 1896.”

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this eleventh day of June, 1906.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him by “The Government Valuation of Land Act, 1896,” His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby appoint
William Frederick Thompson, of Peria;
Henry Donald Coutts, of Te Kuiti;
William Fletcher Wallis, of Auckland;
Hugh John Clarke Coutts;
James Wells, of Wellington;
Gilbert Heathfield Lloyd;
Douglas Horatius Pullar, of Christchurch;
Thomas William Caverhill;
Finlay Nevin Martin, of Wellington;
Henry Murray, of Christchurch;
Bernard John Esam, of Auckland;
Robert Milne, of Milton;
George William Hyde, of Auckland;
John Smaill, of Gore;
William Lewis Kernahan, of Timaru;
Alexander Pyper, of Invercargill;
Harry Gwyn Fisher, of Dunedin;
John Wright, of Dunedin;
Cecil Francis Lewis, of Gisborne,
to be District Valuers under the said Act. Also, in order to remove all doubt as to the manner in which these appointments are made, it is hereby declared that the provisions of neither “The Civil Service Reform Act, 1886,” nor “The Civil Service Insurance Act, 1893,” apply to the persons so appointed.

Appointment of Trustees, Pukekohe Volunteer Parade-ground Reserve.
PLUNKET, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred by “The Volunteer Drill-sheds and Lands Act, 1888,” and “The Volunteer Drill-sheds and Lands Trustees Validation Act, 1890” (hereinafter termed “the said Acts”), His Excellency the Right Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, doth hereby constitute and appoint:—
Brevet-Colonel RICHARD HUTTON DAVIES, C.B., New Zealand Militia, Commanding Auckland Military District;
Lieutenant-Colonel WILLIAM DOUTHWAITE HOLGATE, No. 1 Battalion, Auckland Mounted Rifle Volunteers;
and
Acting Captain RICHARD ROBERT MARTIN, Pukekohe Mounted Rifle Volunteers,
to be Trustees of all that piece or parcel of land being called or known as Lot No. 71, Section No. 1, Parish of Pukekohe, situate in Block XV, Drury Survey District, Provincial District of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 5 acres, more or less. Bounded towards the north by Lot No. 70, Section No. 1 aforesaid, 1000 links; towards the east by a public road-line, 500 links; towards the south by a public road-line, 1000 links; and towards the west by a public road-line, 500 links, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: together with all buildings erected thereon: to hold the said several premises for Volunteer purposes, to wit, as a parade-ground, and generally for the purposes of and with the powers conferred by the said Acts.
And it is hereby declared that the said Trustees shall be incorporated under the name of “The Trustees of the Pukekohe Volunteer Parade-ground Reserve,” and that they shall take office as such Trustees on the fifteenth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and six.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this fifteenth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and six.

Volunteer Regulations amended.
PLUNKET, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by “The Defence Act, 1886,” and “The Defence Act Amendment Act, 1900,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, doth hereby amend in the manner and to the extent set forth in the Schedule hereto such of the General Regulations of the Defence Force of New Zealand made on the eighth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and six, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the same date, as are set forth in the said Schedule. And I do hereby declare that such amended regulations shall come into force on the fifteenth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and six.

Company Establishment.
REGULATION 3.—Delete word “Stoke” on last line of footnote to above establishment, and substitute “Nelson.”

Land temporarily reserved in the Canterbury Land District.
PLUNKET, Governor.
WHEREAS by the two-hundred-and-thirty-fifth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Canterbury Land District described in the Schedule hereunder written, for the purpose in the said Schedule specified at the end of the description of the land so intended to be temporarily reserved.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 3 acres 2 roods 6 perches, more or less, being Section No. 3729, in red (formerly Lot No. 32 of the Morice Settlement), situated in Block XIII, Pigeon Bay Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west by the Valley Road; towards the north-east by Bolton Street, Little River Township; towards the south-east by the road and railway reserve; and towards the south-west by Fleet Street of the said township: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 19322/44, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red. For public recreation.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this nineteenth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and six.
