It is hereby notified that in future the 24th May will be
observed as a holiday in the Government offices in the
colony, and that the said day will be known as “Empire
Day.”

Notice to Local Authorities under “The Local Bodies' Loans
Act, 1901.”

Pursuant to section 63 of “The Local Bodies' Loans
Act, 1901,” the Colonial Treasurer hereby gives
notice that on Monday, the 4th June, 1906, he will be prepared to consider applications from local authorities for
loans under this Act.
Applications should be addressed to the Colonial Treasurer, and must be posted so as to arrive at the Treasury on
or before the 31st instant.

Waipa.

The following special order, made by the Waipa
County Council, is published in accordance with
the provisions of “The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1901.”

Special Order authorising the Payment of Interest on
Loan of £610 3s. 10d. to erect Culverts on Ohaupo-
Cambridge Road out of the General Fund.
That, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in
it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies' Loans Act,
1901,” and the Local Bodies' Loans Act Amendment Acts of
1902 and 1903, the Waipa County Council hereby resolves
as follows: That the interest, amounting to £27 9s. 2d.,
on a loan of £610 3s. 10d. borrowed in 1900 for a term of
twenty-six years, under the provisions of “The Government
Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” for the purpose of
erecting concrete culverts in the Pukekura Riding of the
Waipa County, shall be paid out of the General Fund.
