Officer for signing and issuing Licenses under Animals Protection Acts, Westland District, appointed.
PLUNKET, Governor.
IN exercise of the powers vested in me by “The Animals Protection Act, 1880,” and its amendments, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint the Chief Postmaster at Hokitika to sign and issue to any person licenses to sell native game within the Westland District, consisting of the County of Westland (excepting Lake Rotokino, Lake Kanieri, and Lake Mahinapua, and the road reserve around the shore of the said Mahinapua Lake, and Mahinapua Creek and the road reserves on either side of the said creek), on payment of the sum of five pounds.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-fourth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and six.

IN pursuance of the powers vested in me by “The Animals Protection Act, 1880,” and “The Animals Protection Act 1880 Amendment Act, 1886,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do by this notification prohibit for one year from the date hereof the destruction of the paradise duck (Casarca variegata), a bird indigenous to the said Colony of New Zealand; and I do hereby declare that this notification shall take effect on the publication thereof in the New Zealand Gazette.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-fifth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and six.
