Land temporarily reserved in the Wellington Land District.

PLUNKET, Governor.

WHEREAS by the two-hundred-and-thirty-fifth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Wellington Land District described in the Schedule hereunder written, for the purpose in the said Schedule specified at the end of the description of the land so intended to be temporarily reserved.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre and 33 perches, more or less, being Section No. 4, Village of Marshall. Bounded towards the north by Ruae Road; towards the north-east by Section No. 69, Block III, Apiti Survey District; towards the south by Signal Road; and towards the west by Ruae Road: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 53479/7, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red. For public buildings.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and six.

Notifying Lands in Wellington Land District for Sale by Public Auction.

PLUNKET, Governor.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirteenth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Wednesday, the thirteenth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and six, as the time at which the lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction; and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto opposite the description of such lands respectively.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—WAIMARINO COUNTY.—TOWN OF OHAKUNE.

Town Lands.

Ohakune is situated about twenty-four miles from Pipiriki. There is a post and telegraph office, store, creamery, and school in the township, and it is the present headquarters of the Resident Engineer in charge of the Ohakune Section of the Main Trunk Railway line now under construction. The sections comprise open land; manuka grows on some of them. The soil is pumiceous, on a volcanic-grit formation.
