Hares may be killed in Part of Te Horo Road District,
County of Horowhenua.

PLUNKET, Governor.

IN pursuance of the powers vested in me by “The Animals Protection Act, 1880,” and the Acts amending the same, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby declare that from and after the date hereof hares shall cease to be within the operation of the said Acts within the area described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

AREA IN WHICH HARES MAY BE TAKEN OR KILLED.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, situated in Kaitawa and Waitohu Survey Districts, bounded towards the north-east by the Otaki River from the sea to a point opposite the westernmost corner of Section No. 7A, in Block IV, Kaitawa Survey District; thence by a right line across the Otaki River to the westernmost corner of the said Section No. 7A; thence by the north-eastern boundary-lines of Sections Nos. 7A, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, and 17, Block IV, Kaitawa Survey District, to the easternmost corner of the last-mentioned section; thence towards the south-east by Section No. 18, Block V, Taungata Survey District, to the Otaki River; thence by the said Otaki River to its confluence with the southern branch of that river at the northernmost corner of Section No. 3, Block XII, Kaitawa Survey District; thence by the southern branch of the said Otaki River to the north-eastern boundary-line of Section No. 6, Block XII aforesaid; thence by the last-mentioned section to its northernmost corner; thence across a road and by Sections Nos. 3 and 5, Block XII aforesaid, Sections Nos. 4 and 1, Block XI, Section No. 60, Block X, Kaitawa Survey District, and the production of the north-eastern boundary-line of the last-mentioned section to the sea; and thence towards the north-west by the sea to the place of commencement.

Defining Limits of Wanganui Harbour.

PLUNKET, Governor.

IN pursuance of the power and authority in me vested by the ninth section of “The Harbours Act, 1878,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby define the limits of the Harbour of Wanganui, in the said colony, to be those set out and described in the Schedule hereto. All former Warrants or instruments defining the limits of the said harbour or port are hereby revoked.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area covered by the waters of the Tasman Sea and by the tidal waters of the same, and bounded as follows: Commencing at a point opposite the south-western boundary of Section No. 372, Block IX, Ikitara Survey District, the said point being the intersection of the line of ordinary high-water mark by the arc of a circle three nautical miles in radius from Knowles’s Survey Block No. 4, near the flagstaff at the mouth of the Wanganui River; proceeding thence generally in a north-westerly direction along the line of ordinary high-water mark of the Tasman Sea to the mouth of the Wanganui River; thence generally in a northerly direction along high-water mark on the left bank of the Wanganui River to a point where a line bearing N. 46° west will strike the southern corner of the Raorikia Native Reserve; thence along this said line to its intersection with the line of ordinary high-water mark on the right bank of the said river; thence generally in a southerly direction by the line of ordinary high-water mark of the said river to its mouth; thence generally in a north-westerly direction along the line of high-water mark of the Tasman Sea to its intersection by the arc of the above-described circle; thence generally southerly and easterly by the arc of the above-described circle to the commencing-point: and the hereinbefore-mentioned line of high-water mark shall be deemed to cross the mouths of all tributaries of the said Wanganui River: as the said area is delineated and coloured red on the plan signed by the Governor and marked M.D. 2925, and deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington.
