in Regulation No. 1 of these regulations, from the 2nd April, 1906, to the 31st May, 1906. Ball cartridge only to be used.
3. No doe, hind, or fawn will be allowed to be killed on any pretext whatever; and no dogs will be allowed to accompany either the licensee or any attendant he may have with him.
4. The licensee must give notice to the said Chief Postmaster of the date on which it is his intention to stalk deer; such notice to be posted, or delivered, or telegraphed three clear days before such date.
5. Nothing herein contained shall extend to authorising any person to sell any deer or portion thereof.
6. No deer shall be shot within an area containing about 24,800 acres in one block, being parts of Mid-Hawea, Longslip, Lower Hawea, and Lindis Districts, plans of which area will be issued by the secretary of the Otago Acclimatisation Society to persons to whom licenses to shoot deer are granted.

Domain Board appointed to have Control of the Wahi Takaro Domain.

PLUNKET, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this first day of March, 1906.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS by section two of “The Domain Boards Act, 1904” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, with respect to any public domain, appoint such person or persons (not exceeding nine) as he thinks fit to be a Domain Board having, subject to “The Public Domains Act, 1881,” control of such domain :
And whereas by an Order in Council made under the provisions of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” on the second day of February, one thousand nine hundred and six, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the fifteenth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and six, the land described in the Schedule hereto was brought under the operation of and declared to be subject to the provisions of “The Public Domains Act, 1881” :
And whereas it appears expedient to appoint a Domain Board to control the said domain :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers conferred by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice of the Executive Council of the said Colony of New Zealand, doth hereby appoint

JOHN ERNEST CHAMBERLAIN, and

to be the Wahi Takaro Domain Board, having the control of the land described in the said Schedule hereto for the purposes of and subject to the provisions of the said Act; and doth hereby appoint Tuesday, the third day of April, one thousand nine hundred and six, at a quarter past eight o’clock p.m., as the time when, and the Public Library, Amberley, as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.


SCHEDULE.

WAHI TAKARO DOMAIN.

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 55 acres, more or less, being Section No. 8716 (in red), situated in Block VIII, Teviotdale Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west by the public road forming the south-east boundary of Rural Sections Nos. 22381, 29897, 22411, and 20486, Block VIII. Teviotdale Survey District; towards the north-east by Reserve No. 899 of the said Block VIII, and by the road reserve along the high-water mark of the ocean; towards the south-east of the said road reserve to a point in line with the south-western boundary-line of Rural Section No. 22381 aforesaid; and towards the south-west by a right line in line with the said boundary-line of Rural Section No. 22381 to the public road first mentioned: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 53884, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Vesting a Reserve in the Mauriceville County Council.

PLUNKET, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this first day of March, 1906.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto has been permanently reserved for road-metal purposes :
And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to vest the said reserve in the Mauriceville County Council :
Now, therefore. His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the fourth section of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” doth hereby declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the reserve described in the Schedule hereto shall become vested in “The Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the Mauriceville County,” in trust, for road-metal purposes.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 rood 20 perches, more or less, being Section No. 29, Block V, Kopuaranga Survey District. Bounded towards the north, east, and west by Section No. 26 of the said Block V, and towards the south by a public road; as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 54970, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Exempting Waring Taylor, Johnston, Brandon, Panama Streets, and Parts of Featherston Street and Customhouse Quay from the Operation of Section 117 of “The Public Works Act, 1905.”

PLUNKET, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this third day of March, 1906.

Present:

The Right Honourable R. J. Seddon presiding in Council.

WHEREAS by subsection one of section one hundred and seventeen of “The Public Works Act, 1905,” it is, inter alia, provided that the said section shall not apply in any case where the local authority having control of a road or street by resolution declares that the provisions thereof shall not apply to any specified road or street, or any specified part thereof, and such resolution is approved by the Governor in Council :
And whereas on the fifth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and five, the Council of the City of Wellington, the local authority having control of the streets known as Waring Taylor Street, Johnston Street, Brandon Street, Panama Street, and portions of Featherston Street and Customhouse Quay (being the streets described in the Schedule hereto), did by resolution declare that the provisions of section three of “The Public Works Act, 1903,” should not apply to the said streets :
