Declaring Road-lines through Land in the Morice Settlement to be closed.

PLUNKET, Governor.

WHEREAS a report has been received from the Surveyor-General from which it appears that the roads described in the Schedule hereto are unformed and unused, and that they intersect land acquired under “The Land for Settlements Consolidation Act, 1900,” and are not suitable for the subdivision of such land:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and in exercise of section sixty-nine of the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do by this notice hereby close the roads hereinafter described, and I do hereby declare that they shall thereupon become subject to the said Act.

All in the Canterbury Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked as above mentioned, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured as above noted.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-fourth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and six.

Bringing the Education Endowments in Garvie, Wakaia, Wendonside, Wendon, and Greenvale Districts under the Operation of “The Mining Act, 1905.”

PLUNKET, Governor.

BY virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by section twenty-four of “The Mining Act, 1905” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), and of all other powers enabling me in this behalf, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby bring the lands described in the Schedule hereto within the operation of the said Act.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area being Run 326 and part of Block IX., Wakaia District, bounded as follows: Commencing at the north-east corner of Section 8, Block II., Wendonside District; then due north for a distance of 165 chains; then due west to the Mataura River; then northerly along the Mataura River to a point due west of East Dome; then due east to the north-west corner of Run 327; then in a southerly and easterly direction along the east bank of the Dome Burn to the westernmost angle of Section 5, Block XII., Wakaia District; then south-westerly along the north-west boundaries of Sections 2 and 8, Block XII. aforesaid; then easterly along the southern boundaries of Sections 1 and 8 of Block XII. aforesaid, and that line produced to the north-west corner of Section 27, Block IX., Wakaia District; then southerly along the west boundaries of Sections 27, 26, 24, 23, and 22, Block IX. aforesaid; then west along the north boundaries of Wendon and Wendonside Districts to the commencing-point.

Also all that parcel of land being Sections 5 and 6, Block XI., and 17, 18, 19, Block VII., Wakaia District; and all Run 327c, excepting that portion immediately to the north-east of Section 3, Block VII., Wakaia District. Bounded as follows: Commencing at the westernmost angle of Section 1, Block VII., Wakaia District; then north-easterly along the north-west boundary of Sections 1 and 3, Block VII., Wakaia District, and that line produced to Gow’s Burn; then north-westerly along Gow’s Burn to a point due east of East Dome; then west along the north boundary of Run 327c to its north-west corner; then southerly and easterly along the western and southern boundaries of said Run 327c to the intersection of Station Burn with the north-west boundary of Section 6, Block XI., Wakaia District; then south-westerly along the north-west boundaries of Sections 5 and 6 of Block XI. aforesaid; then south-easterly along the southern boundary of Sections 5, Block XI., and 17, Block VII., Wakaia District; then north-easterly along the south-eastern boundary of Section 17 and south-west and north-west boundaries of Section 20 of said Block VII.; then north-westerly along the north-east boundary of Sections 19 and 18 of said Block VII. to the point of commencement.

Also all that parcel of land being parts of Wendon, Greenvale, and Wart Hill Districts, bounded as follows: Commencing at Trig. K (Black Umbrella); then easterly along the educational endowment boundary to Parasol Creek, and along said Parasol Creek to its junction with the Pomahaka River; then southerly by the Pomahaka River to its junction with the Leithen Burn; then north-westerly by the Leithen Burn to the north-west boundary of Block VII., Greenvale District; then by the said boundary to the north-east corner of Block XI., Greenvale District aforesaid; then west to the east boundary of Wendon District; then north to a point due east of Trig. FF, Wendon District aforesaid; then due west to the south-east corner of Block XIV., Wendon District; then north to the north-east corner of Section 13, Block XIV. aforesaid; then west to the south-east corner of Section 14 of said Block XIV.; then northerly along the eastern boundary of Sections 14 and 15, Block XIV., and 2, Block II., of said Wendon District, to the north-east corner of said Section 2; then east to P.R., Section 1, Block VI.; then north to the north-west angle of Section 1 aforesaid; then east to the Waikaka Stream, and then by that stream to the north boundary of Wendon District; then easterly along the said north boundary to a point due north of Trig. K (Black Umbrella); then due south to the point of commencement: excepting out of the land herein described Sections 1, 2, and reserve south of said Section 2, Block XII., Greenvale. District, and Section 1, Block VI., Wendon District.
