CAMBRIDGE BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Special Order making Special Rate.
THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and its amendments, the Cambridge Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £10,000, authorised to be raised by the Cambridge Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the following purposes—namely, (1) the construction and installation of a gas-supply, £5,000; (2) the extension and improvement of the water-supply, £1,250; (3) a drainage scheme and septic tank, £1,500; (4) tarring, channelling, and kerbing streets, £1,250; and (5) the erection of saleyards, £1,000—the said Cambridge Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1s. 7d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Cambridge, comprising 658 town sections and fifty-one Town Belt sections, containing in all 1,083 acres, more or less, and being situated in Block IX, Cambridge Survey District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of January and the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of fifty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
The above resolution was duly passed at a special meeting of the Cambridge Borough Council held on the 16th day of January, 1906, and confirmed at a special meeting of the said Council held on the 15th day of February, 1906.

In the matter of “The Christchurch Tramways District Act, 1902,” and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and “The Local Elections Act, 1904.”
WE hereby give notice that, on the 8th day of February, 1906, a proposal was submitted by the Christchurch Tramway Board to a poll of ratepayers of the Christchurch Tramways District for raising a special loan of £100,000, to be expended in tramway construction and equipment within the Christchurch Tramways District, exclusive of the Riccarton-Sockburn Subdistrict, particulars of which proposal have been advertised, and that the number of votes recorded respectively for and against the proposal were as follows:—

And we declare the said proposal to be carried.

TE AROHA BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.
Public notice is hereby given that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Te Aroha duly held in the said borough on Monday, the 12th day of February, 1906, upon the proposal of the Council of the said borough hereinafter set forth, the number of votes recorded for and against the said proposal was as follows, that is to say:—
For the proposal, 66; against the proposal, 13; majority in favour, 53.
And I, Andrew Joseph Farmer, the Mayor of the said borough, do hereby declare the said proposal carried.
The said proposal is as follows: To raise, under Part I of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and its amendments, a special loan for the purpose of completing the doing of all things necessary to light the streets and public places of the borough with electricity and to supply electricity to the inhabitants thereof.
The sum proposed to be borrowed is £1,000, at a rate of interest not to exceed £5 per centum per annum.
The Council propose to appropriate and pledge as security for this loan and interest a special rate of 3d. per pound on the rateable value (on the basis of annual value) of all the rateable property within the borough, and it is provided that the said loan shall be repayable at the expiration of twenty years from the 1st day of January, 1906. It is proposed to pay out of the loan the cost of raising same and the interest for the first year.

Notice as to Statutory Closing-day under “The Shops and Offices Act, 1904.”
NOTICE is hereby given that, in exercise of the powers in this behalf conferred upon me by “The Shops and Offices Act, 1904,” and in terms of notice in writing duly received by me from the Chairman of the Conference of Delegates of all the local authorities of the Combined District of Whangarei and Kamo, as constituted for the purposes of that Act, and comprising the Borough of Whangarei and the Town District of Kamo, I, James McGowan, acting for and on behalf of the Minister of Labour, do hereby appoint Thursday to be the statutory closing-day for shops in the said Combined District of Whangarei and Kamo.
