THE following special order, made by the Bruce County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

COUNTY OF BRUCE.

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that the following resolution was confirmed at a special meeting of the Bruce County Council held at the County Office, Milton, on Tuesday, the 11th day of December, 1906:—

That, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it on that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Bruce County Council resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of £1,500 sterling, authorised to be raised by the Bruce County Council, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for drainage-works, Inch-Clutha, the said Bruce County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ¼d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Inch-Clutha Subdivision of the Matau Riding; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such term, and to be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of January and the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

AWATERE ROAD BOARD.

Proposed Loan of £4,000.

I HEREBY give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Awatere Road Board District was taken on Friday, 7th December, 1906, to determine whether a loan of £4,000 should be raised by the Awatere Road Board, and that at such poll the number of votes recorded for and against the proposal was as follows: For the proposal, 134; against the proposal, 17; total number of valid votes polled, 151.

And as the number of valid votes recorded in favour of the proposal exceeds three-fifths in majority of the total number of valid votes polled, I therefore declare the proposal carried.
