of the said Block VIII, Glenomaru Survey District, 250 links, bearing 228° 24′; and towards the south-west by the said Section No. 111, 100 links, bearing 318° 24′: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: together with all buildings erected thereon: to hold the said several premises for the purpose of maintaining a drill-shed for Volunteer purposes, and generally for the purposes of and with the powers conferred by the said Acts. And it is hereby declared that the said Trustees shall be incorporated under the name of “The Trustees of the Owaka Volunteer Drill-shed Reserve,” and that they shall take office as such Trustees on the eighteenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and six.

Appointment of Trustees, Taneatua Volunteer Drill-shed Reserve.
PLUNKET, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred by “The Volunteer Drill-sheds and Lands Act, 1888,” and “The Volunteer Drill-sheds and Lands Trustees Validation Act, 1890” (hereinafter termed “the said Acts”), His Excellency the Right Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, doth hereby constitute and appoint
Brevet-Colonel RICHARD HUTTON DAVIES, C.B., New Zealand Militia, Officer Commanding Auckland Military District;
Major WILLIAM ATHERTON BENNETT, No. 4 Regiment, Auckland Mounted Rifle Volunteers; and
Captain JOSEPH MOODY, Whakatane Mounted Rifle Volunteers,
to be Trustees of all that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement one acre, more or less, being Section No. 31 of the Village of Taneatua: bounded towards the north-east by Section No. 30 of the Village of Taneatua; towards the south-east by a public road; towards the south-west by Section No. 32 of the aforesaid village; and towards the north-west by Section No. 24 of the said village: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 18937/360, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon coloured red: together with all buildings erected thereon: to hold the said several premises for the purpose of maintaining a drill-shed for Volunteer purposes, and generally for the purposes of and with the powers conferred by the said Acts. And it is hereby declared that the said Trustees shall be incorporated under the name of “The Trustees of the Taneatua Volunteer Drill-shed Reserve,” and that they shall take office as such Trustees on the nineteenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and six.

Amending General Regulations of the Defence Forces of New Zealand.
PLUNKET, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred by “The Defence Act, 1886,” and the amendments thereof, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby amend the General Regulations made on the eighth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and six, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the same date, so far as they relate to the headquarters staff, by the addition of the regulations set forth in the Schedule hereto; and I do hereby declare that such additional regulations shall come into force on the twentieth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and six.
SCHEDULE.
HEADQUARTERS STAFF.
17A. IN addition to the officers specified in Regulation 17 of the said General Regulations the headquarters staff shall also include the Chief of the General Staff, the Adjutant-General and Quartermaster-General, the Inspector-General of the Defence Forces, and such other officers as may from time to time be appointed to assist them,
17B. Whenever the office of Commandant is vacant, and so long as such vacancy continues, the functions of the Commandant under the General Regulations shall be performed by such officer or officers of the headquarters staff as the Minister of Defence from time to time directs: Provided that this clause shall be construed subject to the provisions of “The Defence Act Amendment Act, 1906,” and accordingly the functions exercisable by the Council of Defence and the respective members thereof as provided by that Act shall supersede the General Regulations in so far as any conflict or inconsistency exists.

PLUNKET, Governor.
IN exercise of the powers conferred upon me by “The Defence Act Amendment Act, 1906,” and of all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint a Council of Defence in connection with the Defence Forces, consisting of six members, as follows, each of whom shall hold office for five years from the date of this Warrant:—
The Honourable the MINISTER OF DEFENCE, who shall be the President of the Council.
The CHIEF OF THE GENERAL STAFF, who shall be the First Military Member of the Council.
The ADJUTANT-GENERAL AND QUARTERMASTER-GENERAL, who shall be the Second Military Member of the Council.
The INSPECTOR-GENERAL OF THE DEFENCE FORCES, who shall be the Third Military Member of the Council.
Lieutenant-Colonel ROBERT JOSEPH COLLINS, who shall be the Finance Member of the Council.
Brevet-Colonel WILLIAM HOLDEN WEBB, who shall be a Member and the Secretary of the Council.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor of the said Colony; and issued under the Public Seal of the said Colony, at Wellington, this nineteenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and six.
