Lands withdrawn from State Forests.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the lands specified in the first column of the Schedule hereto are State forests under the control of the Commissioner of State Forests appointed under “The New Zealand State Forests Act, 1885” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), and the said lands are now no longer required for State-forest purposes: And whereas plans showing the extent and position of the said lands, and a statement of the reasons why they are no longer required for State-forest purposes, have been laid before both Houses of Parliament for a period of thirty days, and no resolution has been passed by either of such Houses objecting to the issue of this Proclamation:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers conferred by “The New Zealand State Forests Act Amendment Act, 1888,” and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby revoke the Proclamations specified in the second column of the Schedule hereto, so far as they relate to the lands described in the first column of the Schedule hereto, as from the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette; and doth hereby proclaim and declare that from and after such date the parcels of land described in the first column of the Schedule hereto shall be no longer subject to the provisions of the said Act.

HAWKE’S BAY LAND DISTRICT.

All that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 2,378 acres, more or less, being Section No. 1, Block VI; Sections Nos. 1, 2, and 3, Block VII; part of Section No. 1, Block X; and parts of Sections Nos. 2, 3, and 4, Block XI; all of Hikurangi Survey District. Bounded towards the north generally by the northern boundary-line of Section No. 1, Block VI aforesaid, the northern boundary-lines of Sections Nos. 3, 2, and 1, Block VII aforesaid, and the north-eastern boundary-line of Section No. 2, Block XI aforesaid, from the Mokokomuka Stream to the Parewhawha Stream; thence towards the south-east by a right line bearing south 65° west to the Mokokomuka Stream; and thence towards the west generally by the said Mokokomuka Stream to the place of commencement: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 50910, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon coloured red. | Proclamation dated the 5th day of February, 1900, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 16, of the 22nd day of February, 1900. |
| WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.

All that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 169 acres 1 rood 38 perches, more or less, being Sections Nos. 68 and 69, Block I, Mangaone Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west by Sections Nos. 116 and 117, Block I aforesaid; towards the north-east by a public road; towards the south-east by Sections Nos. 119 and 120 of the said block; and towards the south-west by Section No. 115 of the said block: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 36716/82, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon coloured red. | Proclamation dated the 20th day of December, 1899, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 1, of the 4th day of January, 1900. |
| CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.

All that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 87 acres 1 rood 28 perches, more or less, being part of State Forest Reserve No. 3315, and situated in Block VIII, Hutt Survey District. Bounded towards the south-east generally by Rural Section No. 16809, a road-line, Rural Section No. 2871, and a line in continuation of the latter boundary, a distance of 5263 links; towards the west by a line bearing 348° 53′, distant 859·6 links, to a road-line running up a spur; thence generally towards the north-west by the said road to its junction with the road continued along the north-eastern side of the said Rural Section No. 16809; and towards the north-east by the latter road, a distance of 2865·1 links, to the north-eastern corner of the said Rural Section No. 16809: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 55554, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and bordered red thereon. | Proclamation dated the 13th day of August, 1898, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 68, of the 15th day of September, 1898. |
| SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.

All that area in the Southland Land District, containing 232,450 acres, more or less, situated in Stewart Island, being all the forest lands within the following boundaries: Commencing at a point on the coast-line due south of Trig. Y (Rakeahua). Bounded towards the east by a due north line to a point where it is intersected by a due west line drawn from a point on the Murray River, distant two miles from its mouth; towards the south by that line and by the Murray River to the sea; thence towards the north-east, north, west, and again towards the south by the sea to the commencing-point: including the adjacent islands, and excluding Sections No. 1 and 30, Block III, Pegasus Survey District; Section No. 1, and Native Reserve No. 194, Block XVII, Anglem Survey District; and Native Reserve No. 195, Block IX, South Cape Survey District: as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked S.G. 54031, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon coloured green. | Proclamation dated the 24th day of February, 1886, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 11, of the 4th day of March, 1886. |
| All that area in the Southland Land District, containing approximately 192 acres, situated in Block XIX, Jacob’s River Hundred. Bounded towards the north by a tramway reserve, from the south-eastern boundary-line of sawmill area No. 404, Block XIX, Jacob’s River Hundred, to the western boundary-line of sawmill-site No. 414, in the said Block XIX; towards the east by the said sawmill-site; towards the south generally by Section No. 30 of Block XIX aforesaid; the abutment of a public road, by Section No. 31 of the said Block XIX, by a public road, and by the southern boundary-line of the said block XIX to a point due south of the southernmost corner of the reserve attached to the sawmill area No. 404 aforesaid; towards the west by a line due north to the said corner; and towards the north-west by the said reserve and by sawmill areas Nos. 404B and 404 to the tramway reserve aforesaid: as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked S.G. 51113/35, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon coloured red. | Ditto. |

Bounded towards the north-east, towards the east, and towards the south by Crown land, and towards the west by Section No. 126, Block II, Longwood Survey District: as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked S.G. 51113/35A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon coloured red. | Ditto. |
