Lands in Matamata Settlement, Auckland Land District, open
for Selection on Lease in Perpetuity.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned lands
will be open for selection on lease in perpetuity, at
this office, on Thursday, the 27th day of December, 1906,
under the provisions of “The Land for Settlements Con-
solidation Act, 1900,” and amendments.

If more than one application is received for the same sec-
tion on the same day, the order of selection shall be decided
by ballot.

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—PIAKO COUNTY.—MATAMATA
SETTLEMENT.

DAIRY FARM.

Tapapa Survey District.

Agricultural and pastoral land of light loamy nature, with
even surface. Nearly all ploughable, and practically all in
grass; well watered by Waitoa Stream. Situated about a
mile and a half from Matamata Railway-station. Elevation,
about 210 ft. above sea-level. The improvements which are
included in the price of the land consist of about 19 chains
of fencing on road-boundary and about 20 chains of sub-
divisional fencing, valued at £19 10s.; also half-share in
about 156 chains of fencing on northern and southern
boundaries, valued at £39: total value, £58 10s. The im-
provements which are not included in the price of the land,
and which must be paid for by the incoming tenant, consist
of lean-to, 10 acres of scrub-clearing, and 22 chains of new
fencing, valued at £36.

Note.—Tenant must keep the Waitoa Stream clear of all
timber and vegetation where it bounds his section. He must
also keep open all drains at present on the section.

ORDINARY FARMS.

Wairere Survey District.

Level agricultural and pastoral land, in manuka and scrub;
rather inferior light loamy soil, practically all ploughable.
Elevation, about 200 ft. above sea-level. Situated about
six miles and three-quarters from Matamata Railway-station.
The improvements, which are included in the price of the
land, consist of half-share in about 128 chains of fencing on
southern boundary, valued at £32.

Tapapa Survey District.

Pastoral land of inferior sandy-clay nature; mostly plough-
able; varies from undulating to slightly broken. Altitude,
about 350 ft. above sea-level. About 100 acres in Chewing’s
fescue, balance in manuka and scrub. There is rough feed
through the manuka. The section has a permanent supply
of water. The improvements, which are included in the
price of the section, consist of about 80 chains of sub-
divisional fencing, valued at £40. Situated about six miles
from Hinuera Railway-station.

Pastoral Run in Hawke’s Bay Land District for Lease by
Public Auction.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned
pastoral run will be offered for lease by public
action for a term of twenty-one years, at this office, on
Wednesday, the 23rd day of January, 1907, at 11 o’clock
a.m., under the provisions of Part VI of “The Land Act,
1892.”

will be open for selection on lease in perpetuity, at
this office, on Wednesday, the 12th day of December, 1906,
under the provisions of “The Land for Settlements Con-
solidation Act, 1900,” and amendments.

If more than one application is received for the section
on the same day, the order of selection shall be decided
by ballot.

TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT. — TARANAKI COUNTY. — PARITUTU
SURVEY DISTRICT.—SPOTSWOOD SETTLEMENT.

*Interest and sinking fund on buildings valued at £40, repayable
in twenty-one years by half-yearly instalments of £1 11s. 2d. Total
half-yearly payment, £20 10s. 10d.

Weighted with £95, the amount of an existing mortgage
to the Superintendent, Government Advances to Settlers
Office.

Note.—The successful applicant will be required to take a
temporary license, under section 116 of “The Land Act,
1892,” of Section 58, Block IV, Paritutu Survey District,
containing 19 acres 2 roods, at an annual rental of £1 9s. 4d.

Section 60 is situated with a frontage to the Ngamotu
Road, and is accessible from New Plymouth by the Main
South, Breakwater, and Ngamotu Roads, 2 miles 76 chains;
and from the Breakwater, 1 mile 9 chains. The section
consists chiefly of hilly and somewhat broken land, nearly
all in fair old pasture, with a strip of bare sand and clay
along the northern boundary. The portion of section east-
ward of intersecting fence, about 4 acres in extent, is nearly
flat or easy undulating land. The general quality of the
soil is good, being a deep sandy loam on a sandy clay sub-
soil; well watered by the Herekawe and branch creek.

The improvements which are included in the price of the
land consist of 12 chains of fencing, valued at £3; well,
£10. The improvements not included in the price of the
land consist of an old five-roomed cottage, valued at £40, re-
payable in twenty-one years by half-yearly instalments of
£1 11s. 2d.; also fencing, £10; poultry buildings and yards,
£10.

Section 58 is situated on the Paritutu Road. It is ac-
cessible from New Plymouth, which is distant by the Main
South, Ngamotu, and Paritutu Roads, 2 miles 78 chains;
and from the Breakwater by the Ngamotu and Breakwater
Roads, 1 mile 18 chains. The section is hilly and broken
and falling to the coast-line, and the general quality of the
soil is inferior, being chiefly drifting sand or bare clay. The
eastern end is growing lupins.

The improvements, which are included in the price of the
land, consist of 16 chains of boundary and subdivisional
fences, valued at £10.
