PRIVATE ADVERTISEMENTS.

THE Partnership existing between THOMAS NICHOLAS and FREDERICK JAMES FENTON, under the style of “Nicholas and Fenton,” Tailors, Ponsonby Road, has been dissolved by mutual consent as from the 21st day of September, 1905. It is requested that all debts due to the late firm be paid forthwith to the said Frederick James Fenton, who will discharge all liabilities of the firm.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LANDS FOR STREET-WIDENING PURPOSES IN THE CITY OF DUNEDIN.

In the matter of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” and its amendments; and in the matter of “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and its amendments.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Council of the City of Dunedin proposes, under the provisions of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” and the amendments thereof, to take, under the provisions of “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and its amendments, the lands mentioned and described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of widening King Edward Street (formerly known as Hillside Road), in the City of Dunedin. And notice is hereby further given that a plan showing the lands required to be taken, together with the names of the owners and occupiers of such lands so far as they can be ascertained, is deposited in the office of the Town Clerk, Town Hall, situate in the Octagon, in the said city, and is open for public inspection, without fee, by all persons during ordinary office hours, and that all persons affected by the taking of the said lands shall, if they have any well-grounded objection to the taking of such lands, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the said City Council, addressed to the Town Clerk at the offices of such Council, situate in the Octagon aforesaid.

First, all that piece of land situated in the Township of Kensington, in the Provincial District of Otago, containing by admeasurement sixteen poles and eleven-hundredths (16·11) of a pole, more or less, being part of Allotment One (1) on the plan of the said township, commencing at a point on the north-western boundary of said Allotment One (1) fifty-five links and four-tenths (55·4) of a link from the north corner thereof, bounded on the north-west by Park Street, 239 deg. 31 min. 30 sec., forty (40) links; on the south-west by Hillside Road, 149 deg. 30 min. 30 sec., two hundred and fifty-one links and eight-tenths (251·8) of a link; on the south-east by Grosvenor Street, 59 deg. 38 min., forty (40) links; and on the north-east by other part of Allotment One (1), 329 deg. 30 min. 30 sec., two hundred and fifty-one links and eight-tenths (251·8) of a link, to starting-point.

Secondly, all that piece of land situated in the Township of Kensington, in the Provincial District of Otago, containing by admeasurement sixteen (16) poles, more or less, being part of Allotments Thirty-eight (38) and Thirty-nine (39) on the plan of the said township, commencing at a point on the north-western boundary of said Allotment Thirty-eight (38) one hundred and fifty-five links and four-tenths (155·4) of a link from the northern corner thereof, bounded on the north-west by Grosvenor Street, 239 deg. 38 min., forty (40) links; on the south-west by Hillside Road, 149 deg. 30 min. 30 sec., two hundred and fifty (250) links; on the south-east by south-eastern boundary of said allotment Thirty-nine (39), 59 deg. 38 min., forty (40) links; and on the north-east by other part of Allotments Thirty-eight (38) and Thirty-nine (39), 329 deg. 30 min. 30 sec., two hundred and fifty (250) links, to starting-point.

In the matter of “The British Commerce Development Company (Limited),” of Adelaide, South Australia (in liquidation).

THE creditors of the above-named company residing or carrying on business in any of the States of the Commonwealth of Australia or the Colony of New Zealand are required, on or before the 28th day of November, 1905, and the creditors of the said company residing or carrying on business in the United Kingdom of Great Britain or Ireland, or elsewhere other than as aforesaid, are required, on or before the 28th day of December, 1905, to send their names and addresses and the particulars of their debts or claims, and the names and addresses of their solicitors, if any, to the undernamed, William Steele Esau, of Victoria Buildings, Grenfell Street, Adelaide, South Australia, the Liquidator of the said company; and, if so required by notice in writing from the said Liquidator, are, by their solicitors, or otherwise, to prove their said debts or claims, at his office, situate at Victoria Buildings aforesaid, at such time as shall be specified in such notice, or in default thereof they will be excluded from the benefit of any distribution of the assets of the said company made before such debts are proved.
