Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Borough of Feilding, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

BOROUGH OF FEILDING.

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that at the poll taken this day, upon the proposal of the Council of the Borough of Feilding to raise a special loan of £7,000 to complete the borough water-supply scheme, and to provide sufficient services from water mains to private properties, the following votes were recorded:—

For the proposal, 74; against the proposal, 14; informal, 2.

As the number of votes recorded for the proposal exceeds the number of votes recorded against the proposal, I hereby declare the proposal carried.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Featherston County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

FEATHERSTON COUNTY COUNCIL.

In the matter of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and amendments.

At the poll of ratepayers within the Martinborough Town District, held on the 10th day of October, 1905, to consider the proposal to raise a loan of £2,000 for forty-one years, at the rate of 4 per cent. per annum, for the purpose of carrying out certain specified improvements in the Town District of Martinborough, the following were the votes recorded:—

For the proposal, 71; against the proposal, 37; informal, 2.

As the number of valid votes recorded for the proposal is more than three-fifths of the total number of valid votes recorded at the poll, I hereby declare the proposal carried.

Notice fixing Closing-hours of Shops in the Omaka Road District.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the shops in the Omaka Road District (not being one of the districts mentioned in section 3 of “The Shops and Offices Act, 1904”), has been forwarded to me, desiring that all shops in the district shall be closed at 6 o’clock in the evening on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, at 10 o’clock in the evening on Saturdays, and at 1 p.m. on Wednesdays (the weekly half-holiday): And whereas the Omaka Road Board has certified that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the shops within the road district:

Now, therefore, I, Richard John Seddon, the Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 21 of the said Act, do hereby direct that from and after the 1st day of November, 1905, all shops in the Omaka Road District shall be closed in accordance with such requisition.

Notice fixing Closing-hours of certain Shops in the Borough of Greytown.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the shops in the following trades in the Borough of Greytown (not being one of the districts mentioned in section 3 of “The Shops and Offices Act, 1904”), has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops in the borough shall be closed at 6 o’clock p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, at 9 o’clock p.m. on Saturdays, and 1 o’clock p.m. on Thursdays (the weekly half-holiday), excepting on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, when the hour shall be 11.30 p.m.: And whereas the Greytown Borough Council has certified that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the shops mentioned within the borough:

Now, therefore, I, Richard John Seddon, the Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 21 of the said Act, do hereby direct that from and after the 1st day of November, 1905, all shops in the following trades in the Borough of Greytown shall be closed in accordance with such requisition.

Trades.—Drapers, grocers, stationers, bootmakers, and general storekeepers.

Notifying Land in the Wellington Land District subject to “The Land for Settlements Consolidation Act, 1900.”

Wellington, 12th October, 1905.

PURSUANT to the provisions of “The Land for Settlements Consolidation Act, 1900,” I hereby notify that the undermentioned Crown land (being the land known as the Hikawera Settlement), which has been acquired under the said Act, is subject to the said Act.

SCHEDULE.

HIKAWERA SETTLEMENT (TABLELANDS ESTATE).

ALL that parcel of land situate in the Land District of Wellington, containing by admeasurement 2,605 acres 2 roods 33 perches, more or less, being the land known as Ngawaka-a-kupe No. 2c, in the Survey District of Huangarua. Bounded towards the north-east by Tahuroa 1A and A; towards the south-east by the Pahaoa Block, Divisions 2c, 3B, 3A, 4B, and 5; towards the south-west by Ngawaka-a-kupe No. 2E Block; and towards the west by the Ngawaka-a-kupe No. 2D Block: as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked S.G. 19264B, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon edged with red.
