Land set apart for Settlement.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the seventy-third section of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901” (herein termed “the said Act”), it is, amongst other things, enacted that before certain moneys therein mentioned shall be expended upon any block of land it shall be necessary that the same be proclaimed as set apart for settlement:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of every power and authority enabling me in this behalf, and for the purposes of the said Act, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim the land described in the Schedule hereto as set apart for settlement.

As the same is delineated upon the plan marked as above mentioned, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured as above noted.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this seventeenth day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and five.

Native Lands taken for the Purposes of a Road in Block IV., Whitianga Survey District, Coromandel County.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this ninth day of October, 1905.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken for a public work, to wit, for the purposes of a road in Taoraukura and Te Kauanga Blocks, Block IV., Whitianga Survey District:

And whereas the said lands are held or occupied by Native owners under a title which is not derived from the Crown:

And whereas a map in duplicate has been prepared of the said lands, as required by the eighty-eighth section of “The Public Works Act, 1894”:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him by the eighty-eighth section of the said Act, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby declare that the lands shown upon such map, and described in the Schedule hereto, shall be deemed to be taken for the purposes of the said road, and the said lands shall vest in His Majesty the King, as from the ninth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and five.

Huntress Creek Drainage District, County of Opotiki, constituted.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this sixteenth day of October, 1905.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions of the third section of “The Land Drainage Act, 1904,” a majority of the ratepayers in the area of land described in the Schedule hereto, situated in the County of Opotiki, have presented a petition to His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand praying that the said area be constituted a drainage district under the provisions of the said Act:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority contained in the third section of “The Land Drainage Act, 1904,” and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby constitute and declare the area of land described in the Schedule hereto to be a district for the purposes of Part I. of the said Act, and to be called by the name of the “Huntress Creek Drainage District”; and also, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority contained in the fourth section of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the Board of Trustees for the said district shall consist of five members, to be elected under and in accordance with the said Act.

SCHEDULE.

HUNTRESS CREEK DRAINAGE DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, situated in Blocks II. and VI., Opotiki Survey District. Bounded towards the north by the sea for a distance of about 88 chains from the road forming the eastern boundary of Section No. 371, Block II. aforesaid, to the road running southerly from the coast-line to the northern boundary-line of Section No. 384, Block II. aforesaid; thence towards the east generally by the last-mentioned road and its western branch continued through the said Section No. 384 to a point where the road turns to the south-east, known as the Kukumoa Cutting; thence by a right line to the north-eastern corner of Section No. 404, Block VI. aforesaid; thence by the eastern boundary-line of the last-mentioned section to the north-eastern corner of Section No. 405; thence towards the south by the last-mentioned section to its
