RESULT of poll taken on 7th September, 1905, on a proposal that “The Rating on Unimproved Value Act, 1896,” be adopted in the Borough of Kaiapoi, and that henceforth property be rated upon the basis of the unimproved value thereof:—

Majority against the proposal 168 „
The proposal was therefore declared to be lost.

MCKENZIE’S PATENT PEN AND PENCIL GUIDE COMPANY (LIMITED), (IN LIQUIDATION).

NOTICE is hereby given that a General Meeting of the shareholders in the above-named company will be held in the office of Brodrick and Chalmer, Universal Bond, Bond Street, Dunedin, on Tuesday, 24th October, 1905, at 5.15 p.m., for the purpose of receiving the Liquidator’s account of the winding-up, and, if thought fit, passing the following as an extraordinary resolution: “That the account submitted to this meeting showing the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted be received, and that the books, accounts, and documents of the company, and of the Liquidator thereof, be retained by the Liquidator for the period of three months from date, and at expiration of that period be destroyed.”

NOTICE is hereby given, in pursuance of section 230 of “The Companies Act, 1903,” that a General Meeting of the members of the above-named company will be held in the Board-room of the Agricultural Hall, Crawford Street, Dunedin, on Wednesday, the 18th day of October, 1905, at 3 o’clock in the afternoon, for the purpose of having an account laid before them showing the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted and the assets of the company disposed of, and of hearing any explanation that may be given by the Liquidator, and also of determining by extraordinary resolution the manner in which the books, accounts, and documents of the company, and of the Liquidator thereof, shall be disposed of.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is the intention of the above-named company, Millars’ Karri and Jarrah Company (1902), (Limited), a company incorporated in Great Britain, to voluntarily cease to carry on business in New Zealand as from the 31st day of December, 1905.

I, THOMAS MEE, of Beck’s, in Otago, in the Colony of New Zealand, Farmer (son of Hinkson Mee, of the same place, Farmer), do hereby give notice that I have assumed and intend henceforth upon all occasions and at all times to sign and use and be called and known by the name of THOMAS HINKSON MEE in lieu of and in substitution for my present name of Thomas Mee; and that such intended change or assumption of name is formally declared and evidenced by a deed poll under my hand and seal, dated this day, and intended to be forthwith enrolled in the office at Dunedin of the Supreme Court of New Zealand, Otago and Southland District.

In testimony whereof I do hereby sign and subscribe myself by such my intended future name.
