Special Order made by the Council of the Borough of Ross.

THE following special order, made by the Ross Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

BOROUGH OF ROSS.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and “The Local Bodies’ Goldfields Public Works and Loans Act, 1901,” the Ross Borough Council at a special meeting on Wednesday, the 16th day of August, 1905, passed the following resolution as a special order:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £200 (under section 68 of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901”), authorised to be raised by the Ross Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of acquiring and constructing a permanent and efficient water-supply for the Town of Ross, the said Ross Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ⅛d. in the pound upon all the rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Ross, comprising the district situate within the boundaries; and that such rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of May and the 1st day of November in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
A special meeting of the Council will be held at 8.30 p.m. on Thursday, the 14th day of September, 1905, at the office of the Council, for the purpose of confirming the above.

Substituted Special Order made by the Moa Road Board.

THE following special order, made by the Moa Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” in substitution for that gazetted on page 1896 of the New Zealand Gazette No. 73, dated 3rd August, 1905.

MOA ROAD BOARD.
Notice is hereby given that the above Board intends at a special meeting to be held on Wednesday, the 20th day of September, 1905, to pass the following special order:—
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Moa Road Board hereby resolves as follows: “That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of £400, authorised to be raised by the Moa Road Board, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of metalling the Durham Road West from end of present metal westwards, the said Moa Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of ¼d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Durham Road West Special-rating District, comprising Sections 9, 10, 13, 14, 15, 16, 140, 141, 142, 143 (in two subdivisions), 144, 145 (in two subdivisions), 146, 149, 150, 151, 152, 153, 154, 155, 156, 157, 188, 189, Block VIII., Egmont Survey District; 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, Block XI., Egmont Survey District; and 1, 2, 185, 186, 187, Block XII., Egmont Survey District: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of January in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-six years, at 5 per centum per annum, or until the loan is fully paid off.
All expenses in connection with raising this loan to be paid out of loan-money.

OPOTIKI COUNTY COUNCIL.
“The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”
Public notice is hereby given that at a poll of ratepayers of the Opotiki County held on Saturday, the 16th September, 1905, on a proposal to raise a special loan of £2,000 for the extension of the existing bridge over the Waioeka River and the construction of an embankment from the end of such extension to the western bank of the said Waioeka River, the number of votes recorded for and against the proposal were as follows:—
Total number of valid votes recorded in favour of the proposal, 180; total number of valid votes recorded against the proposal, 63.
As the total number of valid votes recorded in favour of the proposal exceeds three-fifths of the number of valid votes recorded at the poll, I hereby declare the proposal carried.
