potentialities of New Zealand in industries, manufactures,
science, and art, and the advantages it offers—
To settlers, in the fertility of its soil and the mildness
of its climate;
To manufacturers, in its wealth of coal, iron, gold, and
other minerals, and its abundant supply of water for
motive power;
To tourists, in the variety and picturesqueness of its
scenery; and
To foreign merchants, as a market for the sale of their
goods :
Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by virtue of all
powers enabling me in this behalf, and acting by the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of New Zealand, do
hereby declare and proclaim that the aforesaid International
Exhibition will be opened in the City of Christchurch, in
the Provincial District of Canterbury, in the Colony of
New Zealand, not later than the first day of November, one
thousand nine hundred and six, and will close not later
than the fifteenth day of April thereafter; and in the name
of the Government and the people of the Colony of New
Zealand I do hereby invite all nations to participate by
appointing representatives and sending exhibits in order to
fitly and fully illustrate their resources, their industries,
and their progress in civilisation.

of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight
Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Go-
vernor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by
the one-hundred-and-sixty-second section of “The
Land Act, 1892,” and of all other powers and authorities
enabling me in this behalf, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby
revoke a Proclamation dated the twenty-fourth day of
May, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-five, and
published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 39, dated the
thirtieth day of May, one thousand eight hundred and
ninety-five, setting apart land for a special settlement, in
so far as it relates to the land described in the Schedule
hereto.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this eleventh
day of September, 1905.

His Excellency the Governor in Council.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
conferred by “The Public Domains Act, 1881,” and
the amendments thereof (including “The Domain Boards
Act, 1904”), His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of
the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby
revoke a certain Order in Council, dated the 8th day of
September, one thousand nine hundred and three, delegating
powers to the Waikuku Domain Board, and doth hereby
appoint
His Worship the Mayor of Rangiora, ex officio,
The Chairman of the Mandeville and Rangiora Road
Board, ex officio,
DAVID BUDDO, M.H.R.,
CHARLES EDWARD SKEVINGTON,
JAMES STOKES MORRISS,
SAMUEL HENRY GRIFFITHS, and
NATHANIEL BARNARD ARCHER
to be the Rangiora and Waikuku Beach Domain Board,
having, subject to the said Acts, control of the lands de-
scribed in the Schedule hereto, which lands are a public
domain, and shall be called the Rangiora and Waikuku
Domain; and also doth hereby appoint Friday, the sixth
day of October, one thousand nine hundred and five, at
three o’clock p.m., as the time when, and the Mandeville
and Rangiora Road Board Office, Rangiora, as the place
where, the first meeting of the said Board shall be held.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing
by admeasurement 305 acres, more or less, being Sections
Nos. 3224, 3710, 3718 (in red), Blocks VIII. and XII.,
Rangiora Survey District. Bounded towards the north by
a line in continuation of the southern boundary of Rural
Section No. 2931; towards the east by the road reserved
along the high-water mark; towards the south by a line at
right angles to the general direction of the coast and about
50 chains distant from the north-east corner; towards the
east by the beach reserve, 20 chains distant from high-
water mark; towards the south by Reserve No. 807; towards
the west by Section No. 34845, a road-line, Sections
Nos. 11318, 11316, 13758, a road-line, the stream forming
the eastern boundary of Reserve No. 709, and by the road
having frontage on Rural Sections Nos. 17713 and 17716:
save and except two roads and a drain reserve each 1 chain
wide intersecting the above-described area: as the same is
delineated on the plan marked S.G. 37197B, deposited in the
Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, and thereon
coloured red.

BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in
me by the twenty-fourth section of “The Public
Reserves Act, 1881,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
colony, do hereby order and declare that the reserve for
public recreation in Canterbury Land District described in
the Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby
brought under the operation of and declared to be subject
to the provisions of “The Public Domains Act, 1881”; and
such domain shall hereafter be managed, administered,
and dealt with in manner directed by the said Act.
SCHEDULE.
