The said several sections hereinbefore described being now known as Nos. 1A to 7A, and 9A to 44A, and 46A to 56A of the Greenfield Settlement; all the aforesaid sections and linkages being more particularly shown on boundary plan of Greenfield Settlement, deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor at Dunedin, and on the plan marked S.G. 19310, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged with red.

NOTICE.—J. R. BAXTER BRUCE, Esq., of No. 9, Bridge Street, Sydney, a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales, has this day been appointed by His Honour the Chief Justice a Commissioner of the Supreme Court of New Zealand in New South Wales, under the 2nd section of “The Commissioners of the Supreme Court Act, 1875,” for the purpose of administering and taking all such oaths, affidavits, and affirmations as in the said section mentioned.

NOTICE is hereby given that at the Junior National Scholarship Examination to be held on the 12th and 13th December, 1905, the exercises in freehand drawing may include drawing from actual objects, or from a representation of some natural or conventional form with simple outlines. (Public-school Syllabus, clause 44.)

Teachers’ Certificates.—Examination in Handwork.
NOTICE is hereby given that examinations in subjects (1), (2), and (3) of handwork under clause 36 of the Regulations for the Examination and Classification of Teachers will be held at various times and places.* Candidates that enter for examination in any of these three subjects at the teachers’ examination of January, 1906, will be given the option of attending for examination in such subjects at the first opportunity that occurs after the receipt of their applications to be examined. An application to be examined in handwork only may be sent to the Inspector-General of Schools at any time, and must be accompanied with a bank receipt for the amount of the fee, which is 2s. 6d. for each branch of handwork. Candidates that wish to be examined in handwork before Christmas are recommended to apply early.
N.B.—Applications for admission to the teachers’ certificate examinations of January, 1906, must reach the office of the Inspector-General of Schools by the 30th September, or, with a bank receipt for a late-fee of £1 in addition to the ordinary fee, by the 15th October.

Assistant Inspector-General of Schools.

APPLICATIONS are invited from candidates for the post of Assistant Inspector-General of Schools. Applicants should be University graduates who have had experience in primary and secondary school work and in the conduct of public examinations. Applications, accompanied by a statement of age, training, and experience, and by two or three recent testimonials, should be addressed to the Inspector-General of Schools, Wellington, and should reach him not later than Friday, the 8th September, 1905.

Notice by the Public Trustee under “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894.”
To the owner or owners of a parcel of land containing 5 acres, more or less, being Allotment No. 59, Section 4, in the Parish of Waipipi and Provincial District of Auckland. The land was Crown-granted to Owen Martin, described as of Waipipi, labourer, who never uplifted his title, and who cannot now be traced.
WHEREAS the Public Trustee has instituted inquiries, and has not thereby ascertained who the owner or owners of the above-described land is or are, and believes that such owner is, or owners are, not in the colony:
Now, this notice calls upon such owner or owners, within six months of the date of the publication of this notice in this Gazette, to establish to the satisfaction of the Public Trustee his or their title to the land specified in this notice; and, if such owner does or owners do not, within the time limited, so establish his or their title, the Public Trustee will exercise the powers and authorities granted to him in and by “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894.”

The land was Crown-granted to John Edwards, described as a private in the 1st Regiment of Waikato Militia, who never uplifted his title, and cannot now be traced.
