southern side of a road leading from Grant Road to the
Tinakori Road; from thence across the Tinakori Road to the
eastern side thereof; from thence southwardly along the
eastern side of the Tinakori Road to the western boundary of
the Botanical Reserve; and from thence towards the west
and north by Sections Nos. 29 and 32, Block 6; and towards
the west by the western boundary-line of the Waterworks
Reserve running through Section 1, Block 6, and by Sections
Nos. 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 70, and 38, Block 10, and by Section 37,
Block 13, Port Nicholson Survey District, to Cook Strait;
thence toward the south generally by Cook Strait and Lyell

THE following special order, made by the Rangitata
Road Board, is published in accordance with the
provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

RANGITATA ROAD BOARD.
Special Order.
RESOLVED, That, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
vested in it in that behalf by “The Road Boards Act, 1882,”
and “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and the Acts amending
the same, the Rangitata Road Board doth hereby make the
following by-laws with respect to heavy traffic upon the
roads under the care, control, or management of the
Board:—
-
No person shall drive, propel, or take any traction-
engine weighing more than 1½ tons avoirdupois to each
pair of wheels, and having shoes, or clogs, or spikes upon
any or all of its wheels, or cause any such engine to be
driven, propelled, or taken, upon any public road within the
Rangitata Road District. -
The tires of every wagon or lorry having four wheels or
more and drawn by a traction-engine upon a public road
within the Rangitata Road District shall be of not less than
6 in. in width, and any person who shall drive or take any
such wagon or lorry the tires of which are less than 6 in. in
width, or cause any such wagon or lorry to be driven or taken,
upon such a road shall be deemed to be guilty of a breach of
this by-law. -
It shall be lawful for any person authorised in that
behalf by the Rangitata Road Board to stop and detain any
traction-engine, wagon, or lorry which in his opinion infringes either of the foregoing by-laws until the weight of
such engine or the width of the tires of such wagon or lorry,
as the case may be, can be ascertained; and the driver of any
such traction-engine, wagon, or lorry shall, upon the request
of such authorised person, inform such person of the weight
of the engine, or of the width of the tires of such wagon or
lorry, and shall do all such acts for the purpose of enabling
such weight or width to be ascertained as by such authorised
person may be reasonably required.
Every person who shall commit any breach of either of the
foregoing by-laws shall for every such offence be liable to a
penalty not exceeding £5.
In accordance with the provisions of section 76 of “The
Road Boards Act, 1882,” I hereby certify that the above
special order has been duly passed by the Rangitata Road
Board.

Special Order made by the Taieri County Council merging
Half-way Bush Road District.

Council, is published for general information.

TAIERI COUNTY.
Half-way Bush Road Board.
NOTICE is hereby given that the following special order
has been made by the Taieri County Council:—
Upon the petition received by the Council on the 7th day
of July, 1905, praying that the Half-way Bush Road Board
be abolished so as to become merged in the Taieri County,
in terms of section 53 of “The Counties Act, 1886,” it is
hereby resolved (so that upon confirmation this resolution
shall operate as a special order) that the said Board be and
the same is hereby abolished; and accordingly the Council
doth hereby declare that on the 31st day of March, 1906, the
said Road Board shall be and be deemed to be dissolved and
the road district of the said Board merged in the Taieri
County.
I, John Logan, Clerk to the Taieri County Council, hereby
certify that the special order of which the foregoing is a
true copy was duly made by the Taieri County Council.

MOUNT ALBERT ROAD BOARD.
SPECIAL ORDER made under the provisions of subsection (1)
of section 132 of “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and of
sections 126 and 127 of “The Road Boards Act, 1882,” on the
7th day of August, 1905:—
By-law No. 4.
The owner or driver of every vehicle along any street or
road within the Mount Albert Road District without proper
and sufficient lights after sunset and before sunrise shall be
guilty of an offence, and upon conviction shall be liable to a
penalty not exceeding £5.
I, Henry Charles Haselden, Clerk to the Mount Albert
Road Board, do hereby certify that the foregoing by-law was
made by special order of the Mount Albert Road Board on
the 7th day of August, 1905, and that the provisions of
section 75 of “The Road Boards Act, 1882,” were complied
with.

altering Ridings and fixing Representation.

County Council, is published in accordance with the

COROMANDEL COUNTY.
Special Order.
RESOLVED, That a special order be made by the Coromandel
County Council for the purpose of adjustment of representation in the Council, and altering the number of
ridings within the county, and the names and boundaries
thereof, and the number of Councillors to be elected by
each riding, as follows: For this purpose the Coromandel
County shall be divided into three ridings, viz.:—
-
The Port Charles Riding.—Bounded on the south by a
line, being the present survey-district line between the
Harataunga and Coromandel Survey Districts, and on all
other sides by the ocean. -
The Coromandel Riding.—Bounded commencing on the
north-west at the intersection of the coast and the boundary
between Harataunga and Coromandel Survey Districts;
thence due eastward along the said boundary-line to its
intersection with the coast; thence along the coast to the
intersection of the Coromandel and Otama Survey Districts
(in Whangapoua Harbour) to the extreme north-west
corner of the Otama Survey District—the peninsula which
is bounded on the landward end by district-survey line is
included; from intersection of district-survey line in
Whangapoua Harbour boundary runs due south to the
south-east corner of Block XII., Coromandel Survey
District; thence due west along the southern boundaries
