THE following special order, made by the Hawera County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

HAWERA COUNTY COUNCIL.
Special Order making and levying Special Rate.
Copy of resolution adopted at a special meeting of the Council held on Saturday, the 17th June, 1905:—
Duthie Road Loan, £900.—That, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and the amendments thereof, the Hawera County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £900, authorised to be raised by the Hawera County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of constructing portion of the Duthie Road—that is, from the Eltham Road to a point 19 chains to the southward of the southern boundary of the Eltham-Opunake Railway Reserve—the said Hawera County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ⅔d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all the rateable property of that portion of the Mangatoki Riding of the Hawera County comprising the northern halves of Sections 25 and 26, and Sections 35 to 41 inclusive, and Subdivisions 26 and 27 (Eltham-Opunake Railway Reserve) of Block 12, Kaupokonui; and the northern halves of Sections 5 and part 15 (73 acres 1 roods 31 perches), Block 16, Kaupokonui: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 15th day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-six years, or until the loan is fully paid off, and that the interest to be paid is at the rate of 5 per cent. per annum.
I hereby certify that the resolution initiating the above special order was adopted at a special meeting of the Council held on Saturday, 17th June, 1905, and duly confirmed at a special meeting held on Saturday, 15th July, 1905.

CITY OF DUNEDIN.
I, JOSEPH BRAITHWAITE, Mayor of the City of Dunedin, do hereby certify that at a special meeting of the Council of the City of Dunedin held on the 24th day of May, 1905, the resolution hereinafter set out was duly passed, and, after the same had been duly advertised in accordance with the provisions of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” regulating the making of special orders, such resolution was duly confirmed at a meeting of the Council of the said city held on the 21st day of June, 1905, such resolution being in the words and figures following: In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and its amendments, the Council of the City of Dunedin hereby resolves as follows—to raise a loan of £10,000, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and its amendments, for the purpose of paying off a loan of £10,000, secured by 100 debentures of £100 each, charged on a special rate of 6d. in the pound upon the annual rateable value of all rateable property in the South Dunedin Ward, City of Dunedin; and doth further resolve that such loan be raised for a period of ten years, and do carry interest at a rate of 5 per centum per annum, with a provision of a sinking fund of £50 per annum being paid to the lenders thereof; and doth further resolve that such new loan of £10,000, and the interest, sinking fund, and other charges in respect thereof, be charged upon and secured by a special rate of 6d. in the pound on the annual rateable value of the rateable property in the South Dunedin Ward, City of Dunedin, which special rate has already been created by special order made by resolution of the South Dunedin Borough Council passed on the 16th day of January, 1905, and confirmed on the 13th day of February, 1905, and which special rate is hereby confirmed.

BOROUGH OF SOUTH DUNEDIN.
I, John Bradley Shacklock, Mayor of the Borough of South Dunedin, do hereby certify that at a special meeting of the Borough Council of the Borough of South Dunedin held on the 16th day of January, 1905, the resolution hereinafter set out was duly passed, and, after the same had been duly advertised in accordance with the provisions of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” regulating the making of special orders, such resolution was duly confirmed at a meeting of the Council of the said borough held on the 13th day of February, 1905, such resolution being in the words and figures following: In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Council of the Borough of South Dunedin hereby resolves as follows—that for the purpose of providing the interest and sinking fund and other charges on a loan of £10,000, proposed to be raised by the Council for the purpose of paying off a loan of £10,000 due on the 31st day of October, 1904, the Council of the said borough hereby makes and levies a special rate of 6d. in the pound sterling on the annual rateable value of all rateable property within the Borough of South Dunedin, such special rate to be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and to be paid on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
