New County of Waitomo divided into Ridings, &c.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by “The Counties Act, 1886,” and “The Waitomo County Act, 1904,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby divide the new County of Waitomo, as constituted by the said Acts, into seven ridings, to be called the Te Rauamoa Riding, the Otorohanga Riding, the Hangatiki Riding, the Waitomo Riding, the Mairoa Riding, the Paemako Riding, and the Te Kuiti Riding, and declare that the boundaries thereof shall be those set forth in the Schedule hereto.
And I do hereby declare that one member shall be elected for each of the aforesaid ridings. And I do further declare that Saturday, the twenty-sixth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and five, shall be the day upon which the election of the first Council of the said County of Waitomo shall take place, and that Monday, the fourth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and five, at half past six o’clock, shall be the time, and Hetet’s Hall at Te Kuiti shall be the place, at which the first meeting of the said Council shall be held.

SCHEDULE.
TE RAUAMOA RIDING.
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, being that portion of Waitomo County bounded towards the north-east by the north-eastern boundary of the Waitomo County as described in the First Schedule to “The Waitomo County Act, 1904,” from Trig. Station No. 1922 on Mahaukura, Block III., Pirongia Survey District, to the southern boundary-line of Kakepuku No. 1b Block; thence towards the south-east generally by the southern boundary-line of the said Kakepuku No. 1b Block to Kakepuku No. 5 Block; thence by the eastern boundary-line of the said Kakepuku No. 5 Block to the north-eastern boundary-line of Kakepuku No. 6 Block; thence by the said north-eastern boundary-line to the easternmost corner of the said Kakepuku No. 6 Block; thence by the southern boundary-line of the last-mentioned block to the north-eastern corner of Kakepuku No. 7b Block; thence by Kakepuku No. 7b and No. 9b Blocks to the northernmost corner of Ouruwhero No. 3e Block on the right bank of the Waipa River; thence by the right bank of the said Waipa River to a point in line with the north-western boundary-line of Section No. 4, Block XII., Pirongia Survey District; thence by a right line across the Waipa River to the northernmost corner of the said Section No. 4; thence by the last-mentioned section to a point in line with the north-western boundary-line of Section No. 3, Block XVI., Pirongia Survey District; thence by a right line across a road to the northernmost corner of the last-mentioned section; thence by the said Section No. 3 and by Section No. 2, Block XVI. aforesaid, and by Section No. 1, Native Reserve, to the southernmost corner of the last-mentioned section; thence again by the said Section No. 2 to the Turitea Stream; thence by the said Turitea Stream to the northernmost corner of Turoto C No. 2 Block; thence by the said Turoto C No. 2 Block to its westernmost corner; thence by a right line to the northernmost corner of Orahiri No. 2 Block, Section No. 1; thence by the last-mentioned block to its westernmost corner; thence towards the south generally by Orahiri No. 2b Block and Section No. 2, Block II., Orahiri Survey District, to the road forming the western boundary of the last-mentioned section; thence by the said road forming the western boundaries of Sections Nos. 2 and 4, Block II., Orahiri Survey District, and forming the southern boundary of Section No. 3, Block II. aforesaid, and the southern boundary of Section No. 2, Block I. (E.R.), to the north-eastern corner of Section No. 3, Block I. aforesaid; thence by the last-mentioned section and the production of its northern boundary-line to the western side of the road forming the eastern boundary of Section No. 7, Block I. aforesaid; thence by the last-mentioned road to the north-eastern corner of the said Section No. 7; and thence by the last-mentioned section to the eastern boundary of the Kawhia County as described in the Second Schedule to “The Waitomo County Act, 1904”; and thence towards the west generally by the said Kawhia County to the place of commencement.
OTOROHANGA RIDING.
All that area in the Auckland Land District, being that portion of Waitomo County bounded towards the north-east by the north-eastern boundary of the Waitomo County as described in the First Schedule to “The Waitomo County Act, 1904,” from the southern boundary-line of Kakepuku No. 1b Block to the southern boundary-line of Rangitoto-Tuhua No. 27 Block (Haupapa); thence towards the south generally by the southern boundary-line of the last-mentioned block to its westernmost corner; thence by Rangitoto-Tuhua No. 33 Block (Otewa) and Rangitoto-Tuhua No. 24 Block (Ongarahu) to the Mangawhero Stream; thence by the said Mangawhero Stream and Tahaiā B Block to the northernmost corner of the last-mentioned block; thence by Section No. 3, Block VIII., Orahiri Survey District, to the road forming the western boundary of the last-mentioned section; thence by a right line across that road to the northernmost corner of Section No. 4, Block VIII. aforesaid; thence by the last-mentioned section and the production of its north-western boundary-line to the northernmost corner of Pukeroa-Hangitiki No. 5 Block; thence by the last-mentioned block and Section No. 7a, Block VIII. aforesaid, to the Haurua Road; thence by a right line across the said Haurua Road to the north-eastern corner of Hauturu East C No 2b Block; thence by the last-mentioned block to the eastern
