Special Orders made by the Council of the County of Oroua.

THE following special orders, made by the Oroua County Council, are published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

OROUA COUNTY COUNCIL.
Special Order.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and “The Counties Act Amendment Act, 1904,” the Oroua County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £2,800, authorised to be raised by the Oroua County Council, under the provisions of the above-mentioned acts, for the purpose of paying off an overdraft owing by the said County Council to its bankers, the Bank of New Zealand, Feilding, the said Oroua County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/6d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Oroua County as defined by Proclamation published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 15th day of January, 1903; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of October and the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years from the 12th day of February, 1905, or until the loan is fully paid off.
I certify that the above special order was made in accordance with the provisions of “The Counties Act, 1886,” and its amendments.

OROUA COUNTY COUNCIL.
Special Order.
RESOLVED by way of special order as follows: That the special loan of £2,800 authorised by special order made the 2nd day of December, 1904, and confirmed the 6th day of January, 1905, be paid by redeeming one debenture of £140 in each year ending the 12th day of August, interest on each redeemed debenture to cease, and that a sinking fund of not less than £140 per year ending the 12th day of August be established for that purpose.
I certify that the above special order was made in accordance with the provisions of “The Counties Act, 1886,” and its amendments.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Eketa huna County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

EKETAHUNA COUNTY COUNCIL.
Result of Poll.
The following is the result of a poll taken at the County Office, Eketa huna, on Wednesday, the 5th day of July, 1905, upon a proposal to raise a loan of £700 for road improvements in the Township of Parkville, Block V., Mangaone Survey District: Number of ratepayers on the special roll, 37; number of votes on the roll, 37; number of votes recorded at the poll, 23; number of votes in favour of the proposal, 23; number of votes against the proposal, nil; informal, nil.
As the total number of valid votes recorded in favour of the proposal exceeds three-fifths of the total number of valid votes recorded at the poll, I hereby declare the proposal carried.

OTAUTAU TOWN DISTRICT.
Proposal to raise a Loan of £600 under “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”—Result of Poll.
In accordance with the provisions of section 13 of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” I hereby notify that the result of poll of ratepayers held on Friday, 30th June, 1905, to determine above proposal to borrow £600 to be as follows: Total votes recorded, 110; votes for proposal, 101; votes against proposal, 9; informal votes, nil; majority of votes recorded for proposal, 92.
The number of votes recorded in favour of the proposal exceeding three-fifths of the total number of votes recorded at the poll, I hereby declare the proposal carried in accordance with section 12 of the above Act.

BOROUGH OF BLENHEIM.
In the matter of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” the respective amendments thereof, and “The Local Elections Act, 1904.”
Notice is hereby given that at the poll of the electors of the Borough of Blenheim taken on the 12th day of July, 1905, on the proposal to raise a special loan of £4,000, under “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for the erection of a Town Hall and offices, the votes given were as follows: For the proposal, 303; against the proposal, 220; informal, 5.
And I hereby declare the said proposal to be carried.

Notice fixing Closing-hours of Drapers’, Clothiers’, and Mercers’ Shops in the Borough of Invercargill.
WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the drapers’, clothiers’, and mercers’ shops in the Borough of Invercargill (not being one of the districts mentioned in section 3 of “The Shops and Offices Act, 1904”), has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops in the borough shall be closed at 6 o’clock in the evening on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, at 10 o’clock in the evening on Saturdays, and at 1 o’clock in the afternoon on Wednesdays, excepting on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, when the hour for closing shall be 11 p.m.: And whereas the Invercargill Borough Council has certified that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the drapers’, clothiers’, and mercers’ shops within the borough:
Now, therefore, I, Richard John Seddon, the Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 21 of the said Act, do hereby direct that from and after the 24th day of July, 1905, all drapers’, clothiers’, and mercers’ shops in the Borough of Invercargill shall be closed in accordance with such requisition.
