His Majesty's Assent to "The Shipping and Seamen Act, 1903."

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the Constitution Act it is, amongst other things, provided that no Bill reserved for the signification of His Majesty's pleasure thereon shall have any force or authority within the Colony of New Zealand until the Governor of the said colony signifies by speech or message to the Legislative Council and the House of Representatives of the said colony, or by Proclamation, that such Bill has been laid before His Majesty in Council, and that His Majesty has been pleased to assent to the same: And whereas a certain Bill, passed by the Legislative Council and House of Representatives of the said colony, intituled "An Act to consolidate and amend the Acts relating to Shipping and Seamen," the Short Title of which is "The Shipping and Seamen Act, 1903," was presented to the Governor for His Majesty's assent, and the said Bill was reserved for the signification of His Majesty's pleasure thereon:
Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance of the provisions of the said in-part-recited Act, do by this Proclamation signify and proclaim to all whom it may concern that the said Bill has been laid before His Majesty in Council, and that His Majesty has been pleased to assent to the same.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this fourth day of April, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and five.

Local Land District constituted.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the twenty-third section of "The Land Act, 1892," it is enacted that the Governor, by Proclamation in the Gazette, may from time to time establish and define, abolish, alter, or reconstitute local districts for the sale or disposal of land, and in like manner from time to time may appoint land offices, and land officers or other persons for conducting sales of land in such local districts, and for receiving applications for the sale, letting, disposal, or occupation of Crown lands, and for generally carrying into effect the provisions of the said Act:
Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the district described in the Schedule hereto is hereby established, defined, and constituted a local district for the sale and disposal of land under the said Act, and that the Local Land Office the name of which is in the said Schedule set opposite the name of the said local district is appointed the Land Office for the said local district.
