Notice to Mariners No. 23 of 1905.

PUYSEGUR POINT LIGHT, ENTRANCE TO PRESERVATION INLET,
SOUTH ISLAND OF NEW ZEALAND.

Wellington, N.Z., 27th March, 1905.

NOTICE is hereby given that repairs are about to be
effected to the light situated near the western ex-
treme of Puysegur Point, at the entrance to Preservation
Inlet, south-west extreme of the South Island of New
Zealand, and that to enable them to be carried out the
flashing-light will be discontinued from or about the night
of Wednesday, the 26th April, 1905; but a further notice
giving the exact date will be issued later on. During the
discontinuance of the flashing-light a fixed white light will
be exhibited, visible about twelve miles from a vessel’s deck
in clear weather.

January, 1905, as having passed the Civil Service Junior
Examination held in December, 1904, the true name of the
eleventh candidate is Mary Elizabeth Pearce, not Mary
Elizabeth Pearce Pascoe.
