along the right bank of the Wanganui River to the western side of Morero Terrace, Township of Taumarunui; thence northerly along the western side of Morero Terrace, 431, 200, and 316 links respectively, to the south side of Taumarunui Street; thence westerly along the south side of Taumarunui Street, 1240 links, to the western side of Marae Street; thence northerly along the western side of Marae Street, 960 links, to the south-eastern corner of Section No. 7, Block II., Taumarunui Township; thence westerly along a line which forms the southern boundary of the said Section No. 7 and Sections Nos. 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1 of the said Block II., 686 links, to Katarina Street; thence along a right line across Katarina Street to its opposite angle, 197 links; thence northerly along the western side of Katarina Street aforesaid, 772 and 389 links, to the North Island Main Trunk Railway Reserve; thence easterly along the south side of the last-mentioned reserve, 186 links, to the Taumarunui Railway-station Reserve aforesaid; and thence southerly along the said Taumarunui Railway Reserve, 186 links, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: save and except Taumarunui Native School Site, No. 6114g1, containing 3 acres, which is within the above-described boundary: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 49498A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon bordered red.

Amending Description of Native Township of Te Kuiti.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by section eight of “The Native and Maori Land Laws Amendment Act, 1902,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, by Proclamation published in the Gazette and Kahiti, declare that any parcel or parcels of Maori land, whether or not such parcels form portions of several blocks, and whether or not such parcels are held by the owners under separate titles, shall be vested in the Maori Land Council of the district within which such land is situated as a site for a Native township, and shall by the same Proclamation assign a name to such township:
And whereas by section twelve of the said Act it is further enacted that any Proclamation under the said Act may from time to time be amended, varied, or revoked by the Governor as he thinks fit, and thereupon all amendments or cancellations in the Land Transfer Register as may be necessary shall be made by the District Land Registrar, but without prejudice to any valid dealings that may in the meantime have taken place:
And whereas by Proclamation bearing date the twenty-second day of January, one thousand nine hundred and three, the Governor, in exercise of the aforesaid powers, proclaimed and declared that the parcel of land described in the Schedule thereto should be vested in the Maniapoto-Tuwharetoa District Maori Land Council as a site for a Native township, and did thereby assign the name of “Te Kuiti” to such township:
And whereas by Proclamation bearing date the twenty-third day of June, one thousand nine hundred and three, the Governor, in exercise of the aforesaid powers, amended the description of the said township:
And whereas it is expedient to further amend the description of the said township:
Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon me as aforesaid, do hereby amend the description of the said Native township, as set out in the Schedule to the said Proclamation bearing date the twenty-third day of June, one thousand nine hundred and three, by substituting in lieu thereof the description set out in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
AMENDED DESCRIPTION OF TE KUITI NATIVE TOWNSHIP.
ALL that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District, situated in Blocks III. and IV., Otanake Survey District, being portion of Pukenui No. 2b Block, portion of Pukenui No. 2r Block, portion of Pukenui No. 2b No. 5 Block, Pukenui No. 2q Block. Subdivisions Nos. 1 and 2 of Pukenui No. 2b Block, and Subdivisions Nos. 1 to 20 inclusive of Pukenui No. 2a Block, and 5 acres 2 roods 34 perches, more or less, of roads laid off by the Court giving access to the said subdivisions of the Pukenui No. 2a Block aforesaid, and containing by admeasurement 263 acres and 11 perches, more or less. Bounded towards the east by a line commencing at a point on the left bank of the Mangaokewa Stream where it is intersected by the production in a north-easterly direction of the south-east boundary-line of Te Kuiti Railway-station Reserve, and extending along the said production and the said south-east boundary-line on a bearing of 51° 11′ 30″, a distance of 430 links, to the southernmost corner of the reserve aforesaid situated on the north side of the Awakino Road; thence by the said Awakino Road a distance of 2060·2 links; thence towards the south-east by lines bearing 93° 55′, 14° 24′, 92° 41′, 155° 43′, 101°, 41° 14′, and 41° 31′, with distances of 274·3, 231·2, 147·7, 204·7, 130, 115·8, and 85·8 links respectively, to the northernmost corner of Pukenui No. 2b No. 6 Block; thence by the north-west boundary-line of the said block and its production on a bearing of 252° 0′ 30″ a distance of 2083·6 links; thence towards the south-west by a right line in a north-westerly direction bearing 142° 34′ a distance of 4809·4 links; thence towards the north-west by a right line in a north-easterly direction bearing 48° 4′ 30″ a distance of 5500 links to the left bank of the Mangaokewa Stream; and thence towards the north-east by the said bank of the said stream to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: save and except the Main Trunk Railway Reserve and Te Kuiti Railway-station Reserve, which are within the above-described boundaries.
