And whereas the Council of the Borough of Caversham, which is now amalgamated with the City of Dunedin, has laid before the Governor a memorial, accompanied by a map, and also the statutory declaration, as required by "The Public Works Act, 1894":

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by "The Public Works Act, 1894," and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of widening the said road, and shall vest in the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Dunedin.

SCHEDULE.

Approximate Area of the Parcel of Land taken. Being Part of Allotments Situated in Shown on Plan Coloured on Plan
A. R. P. 0 0 1·3 52 and 60 Township of Caver ville and Borough of Ca-versham R. 6030 Red.

In the Otago Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked and coloured as above mentioned, deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this ninth day of December, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and four.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by section thirteen of "The Land Act, 1892," and its amendments, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, with the consent of the owner and mortgagee of the land hereinafter mentioned, and of the Clifton County Council, being the local authority in whose district the said land is situated, do by this notice hereby proclaim as taken for a road the land in Waitara Survey District hereinafter described, that is to say,--

Revoking the Setting-apart of the Native Township of Ohotu.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by Proclamation made the twenty-seventh day of December, one thousand nine hundred, under the provisions of "The Native Townships Act, 1895," certain Native lands, as specified therein, were set apart as a site for the Native Township of Ohotu, but no leases thereof have been disposed of, and it is expedient to revoke the said Proclamation:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power conferred upon me by the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the aforesaid Proclamation, dated the twenty-seventh day of December, one thousand nine hundred, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 4, dated the tenth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and one, setting apart certain Native land, as specified therein, as a site for the Native Township of Ohotu, is hereby revoked.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this tenth day of December, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and four.

Amending Description of Native Township of Taumarunui.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section eight of "The Native and Maori Land Laws Amendment Act, 1902," it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, by Proclamation published in the Gazette and Kahiti, declare that any parcel or parcels of Maori land, whether or not such parcels form portions of several blocks, and whether or not such parcels are held by the owners under separate titles, shall be vested in the Maori Land Council of the district within which such land is situated as a site for a Native township, and shall by the same Proclamation assign a name to such township:

And whereas by section twelve of the said Act it is further enacted that any Proclamation under the said Act may from time to time be amended, varied, or revoked by the Governor as he thinks fit, and thereupon all amendments or cancellations in the Land Transfer Register as may be necessary shall be made by the District Land Registrar, but without prejudice to any valid dealings that may in the meantime have taken place:

And whereas by Proclamation bearing date the twenty-seventh day of November, one thousand nine hundred and three, the Governor, in exercise of the aforesaid powers, proclaimed and declared that the parcel of land described in the Schedule thereto should be vested in the Maniapoto-Tuwharetoa District Maori Land Council as a site for a Native township, and did thereby assign the name of "Taumarunui" to such township:

And whereas it is expedient to amend the description of the said township:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon me as aforesaid, do hereby amend the description of the said Native township, as set out in the Schedule to the Proclamation aforesaid, by substituting in lieu thereof the description set out in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

AMENDED DESCRIPTION OF TAUMARUNUI NATIVE TOWNSHIP.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 384 acres, more or less, being part of the Ohura South G or Taumarunui Block, situated in Blocks I. and II., Piopiotea Survey District. Bounded by a line commencing at the south-west angle of the Taumarunui Railway-station Reserve, and proceeding generally easterly along the south side of the North Island Main Trunk Railway Reserve, 4285, 175, and 12699 links respectively; thence southerly along the western side of Ballast Reserve, 633 links; thence again easterly along the south boundary of the said Ballast Reserve, 2388 links and 260 links respectively, to the right bank of the Wanganui River; thence westerly generally
