NOTICE is hereby given that written tenders will be received at this office up to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, the 16th day of November, 1904, for leases of the under-mentioned sections, under the provisions of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881.”

CONDITIONS OF LEASE.

  1. Tenders must be accompanied by marked cheque or post-office order for six months’ rent at the rate offered, together with £1 1s. lease fee.
  2. There are no restrictions or limitations as to the number of sections which one person may lease, and no declaration is required. Residence is not compulsory. No compensation shall be claimed by the lessee, nor shall any be allowed by the Government, on account of any improvements effected by the lessee, nor for any other cause.
  3. Possession will be given on the day of acceptance of tender.
  4. The leases shall be for the term of years as specified above, but shall be subject to termination by twelve months’ notice in the event of the land being required by the Government.
  5. The rent shall be payable half-yearly, in advance.
  6. The lessee shall have no right to sublet, transfer, or otherwise dispose of the land comprised in the lease, except with the written consent of the Commissioner of Crown Lands first had and obtained.
  7. The land shall not be cropped nor broken up.
  8. The lessee shall prevent the growth and spread of gorse, broom, and sweetbriar upon the land comprised in the lease; and he shall with all reasonable despatch remove, or cause to be removed, all gorse, sweetbriar, broom, or other noxious weeds or plants, as may be directed by the Commissioner of Crown Lands.
  9. The right is reserved for the Opunake Town Board to enter upon Section No. 31, Block IX., Opunake Survey District, for the purpose of removing stone from the Waiaua River.
  10. The lease shall be liable to forfeiture in case the lessee should fail to fulfil any of the conditions of the said lease within thirty days after the date on which the same ought to be fulfilled.

NATIVE LAND COURT NOTICES.

Order under Section 39 of “The Native Land Court Act, 1894.”

IN THE NATIVE LAND COURT OF NEW ZEALAND.

In the matter of the Te Komiti Block, and of the application of Kerei Mu and Naiti Wiapo under section 39 of “The Native Land Court Act, 1894.”

WHEREAS upon inquiry made into the matter of the above-mentioned application it appears that the name of the said Kerei Mu was accidentally omitted from the schedule of owners of the said block, and the said Naiti Wiapo is entitled to four shares in the said block, in addition to those set after her name in the said schedule:

Now, therefore, for the purpose of rectifying the said omissions, and in exercise of the powers in that behalf vested in me as Chief Judge of the Native Land Court by section 39 aforesaid, I hereby order that the name of the said Kerei Mu be included as the owner of four shares in that portion of the block which has been called by the Court Te Komiti No. 1B, and that the shares of the said Naiti Wiapo in that portion of the block which has been called by the Court Te Komiti No. 2B be increased by the addition of four shares, and that the orders of the Court with regard to Te Komiti Nos. 1B and 2B be amended accordingly.

Further Adjournment of Sitting of the Native Land Court and Tokerau District Maori Land Council at Helensville, Kaipara.

Registrar’s Office, Auckland, 3rd October, 1904.

NOTICE is hereby given that the sitting of the Native Land Court which was notified to be held at Helensville, Kaipara, on the 23rd day of August, 1904, and adjourned to the 11th day of October, 1904, has been further adjourned to the 25th day of October, 1904.

Notice is also given that any business in which the Ngatiwhatua are concerned, and any other business advertised for hearing at Helensville, which the parties prefer to be taken at Auckland, will be adjourned to Auckland, to be dealt with there after the Court has concluded the hearing of the business brought on at Helensville.
