Also, all that road in the Wellington Land District, commencing at its junction with the Langdale Road, at the south-western corner of Subdivision 7, Langdale Estate, Block III., Rewa Survey District, and proceeding thence in a north-easterly direction until it reaches the Whareama River at the south-eastern corner of the above-mentioned subdivision, Block III., Rewa Survey District, the whole of the road being in the Castlepoint County; as the same is delineated on the plan marked R. 5161⁵, deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, coloured orange, and marked E.F. thereon.

Also, all that portion of road in the Wellington Land District, commencing at its junction with the Langdale Road, at the south-west corner of Section 245, Block XV., Mangapakeha Survey District, and proceeding thence nearly due east until it junctions on to the Whareama River, at the bridge, on the southern boundary of Section 245, Block XV., Mangapakeha Survey District, the said road being in the Castlepoint County; as the same is delineated on the plan marked R. 5161⁵, deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, coloured violet, and marked K.L. thereon.

Rural Lands in Otago Land District open for Selection on Lease in Perpetuity.

RANFURLY, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirty-sixth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on and after the first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and four; and also that the land mentioned in the said Schedule may be selected on lease in perpetuity only, in accordance with the provisions of section one hundred and twenty-one of the said Act, as it contains, or is supposed to contain, metals, minerals, or valuable stone; and I do hereby also fix the price at which the said land shall be leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said land shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1892,” and “The Mining Act, 1898,” and amendments.

Otago Land District. — Tuapeka County. — Glenkenich Survey District.

Open agricultural land, with a westerly exposure. The soil is a clay loam on clay subsoil. The section has nearly all been ploughed, and laid down in grass, which is now run out. Watered by a small creek. Altitude, from 650 ft. to 900 ft.

Changing the Purpose of a Reserve in Taranaki.

RANFURLY, Governor.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto was heretofore duly set apart for General Government purposes, being a reserve within Class II. of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” and such land has not been vested in trust in any society, body corporate, or trustees: And whereas it is expedient that such reserve shall be appropriated for a public recreation-ground, being a reserve in Class III. of the aforesaid Act:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the second section of “The Public Reserves Act Amendment Act, 1889,” do by this notification declare that the said reserve shall, from and after the twenty-eighth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and four, be appropriated for a public recreation-ground under Class III. of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881”; and I do hereby direct that this notification shall be published in the New Zealand Gazette.

SCHEDULE.

All that parcel of land in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 rood 20 perches, more or less, being Section No. 319, Town of Ohawe: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 50560, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered brown.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-second day of January, one thousand nine hundred and four.
