Special Order made by the Council of the County of Hawera.

THE following special order, made by the Hawera County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

HAWERA COUNTY COUNCIL.
Special Order making and levying Special Rate.
RESOLUTION adopted at a special meeting of the Council held on Saturday, the 16th June, 1904:—
Cornwall Road Loan, £253.—That, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Hawera County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £253 (being the Hawera County Council’s share of a joint loan of £650), authorised to be raised by the Hawera County Council under the above-mentioned Act, for constructing the Cornwall Road from the Mountain Road to the Waingongoro River, the said Hawera County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of that portion of the Eltham Riding of the Hawera County comprising Sections 1, 2, 3, and the northern half of Section 4 of Block X., Ngaiere; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 15th day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-six years, or until the loan is fully paid off; and that the interest to be paid is at the rate of 5 per cent. per annum.

That the Stratford County Council shall have the supervision and control of the proposed works, and authority to spend thereon within the Hawera County such part of the moneys raised as shall be required therein.
I hereby certify that the resolution initiating the above special order was adopted at a special meeting of the Council held on Saturday, the 16th June, 1904, and duly confirmed at a meeting held on Saturday, the 16th July, 1904.

THE following special order, made by the Alexandra South Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

ALEXANDRA SOUTH BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Special Order making Special Rate.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and its amendments, the Council of the Borough of Alexandra hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £700 (being 10 per cent. of original waterworks loan of £7,000), authorised to be raised by the Council of the Borough of Alexandra, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for and in connection with the completion of the waterworks of the said borough, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 2d. in the pound upon the rateable valuation of all properties in the Borough of Alexandra, comprising all that area bounded towards the north-west by Block VII., Leaning Rock District, 11919 links; towards the north-east by Block VII., Leaning Rock District, 7615 links; towards the east by the Manuherikia River, 8800 links; and towards the south by the Clutha River, 11000 links: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of May and the 1st day of November in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until such loan is fully paid off. Further, that the said Council adopt the provisions of section 8 of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1903,” in regard to the aforesaid loan, which shall have a currency of forty-one years at 4 per cent.
I hereby certify that the above special order was duly made on the 27th day of June, 1904, and confirmed on the 25th day of July, 1904.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Waikokopu Harbour Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

WAIKOKOPU HARBOUR BOARD.
Result of Poll.
PUBLIC notice is hereby given that at a poll of the ratepayers duly held at Morere on Thursday, the 16th day of June, 1904, upon the proposal of the Waikokopu Harbour Board to borrow the sum of £12,000 for harbour-works at Waikokopu, the number of votes recorded for and against the said proposal was as follows, that is to say,—
For the proposal, 67; against the proposal, 4: majority in favour of the proposal, 63.
I, G. C. Ormond, Chairman of the Waikokopu Harbour Board, do solemnly and sincerely declare that all the proceedings required by law to be taken in or towards obtaining the sanction of the electors to the proposal to borrow £12,000 for the purpose of constructing harbour-works at Waikokopu have been duly taken, and that the proposal has been duly carried; and I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing the same to be true, and by virtue of the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand intituled “The Justices of the Peace Act, 1882.”

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Borough of Gore, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

In the matter of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” I, DUGALD LOUIS POPPELWELL, Mayor of the Borough of Gore, do hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Gore was taken on Friday, the 29th day of July, 1904, on the following proposal: To raise a special loan of the sum of £20,800 for the following undertakings, that is to say,—

And to secure the above loan, and the repayment thereof and interest thereon, by the issue of debentures of £100 each, bearing interest at the rate of 5 per centum per annum, and a sinking fund of 1 per centum per annum, payable half-yearly, such debentures to have a currency of ten years from the date of issue thereof; and that the security for the repayment of the said debentures, interest, and sinking fund shall be the various undertakings enumerated above, and also a special rate on the whole of the rateable property of the Borough of Gore: and, further, to pay out of any moneys realised by the said loan the cost of raising the same and the first year’s interest and sinking fund thereon.
And I also give notice that there were 73 votes recorded for and 8 against the proposal. Now, therefore, I do hereby declare the said proposal carried.
