Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this sixth day of August, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and four.

Closing Portion of a Government Road through Block X., Mount Cerberus Survey District.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by section twelve, subsection three, of “The Public Works Acts Amendment Act, 1900,” it is enacted that the Governor may, by Proclamation publicly notified, stop or alter the course of any Government road, or any part thereof: And whereas that portion of the Government road described in the Schedule hereto is no longer required for the purposes of a road:
Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the above-in-part-recited Act, and of all other powers in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim as closed the road in Block X., Mount Cerberus Survey District, hereinafter described.

Lands set apart for Settlement.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the seventy-third section of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901” (herein termed “the said Act”), it is, amongst other things, enacted that before certain moneys therein mentioned shall be expended upon any block of land it shall be necessary that the same be proclaimed as set apart for settlement:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of every power and authority enabling me in this behalf, and for the purposes of the said Act, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim the blocks of land described in the Schedule hereto as set apart for settlement.
SCHEDULE.
SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.
Waikawa-Otara Block Extension (3,466 Acres).
All that area in the Southland Land District, situated in Blocks VIII. and XI., Waikawa Survey District, containing by admeasurement 1,726 acres, more or less. Bounded towards the north-west generally by part of the southern boundary-line of the Waikawa-Otara Block, as described in the Schedule to the Proclamation setting apart lands for settlement under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act Amendment Act, 1891” (New Zealand Gazette No. 23, of the 30th March, 1893, pages 411 and 412), from the western boundary-line of Section No. 12, Block VIII., Waikawa Survey District, to the western boundary-line of Section No. 32, Block II., said Waikawa Survey District; towards the east by the said Section No. 32, the abutment of a road, and Sections Nos. 34 and 35, all of the said Block II., Waikawa Survey District; towards the south and again towards the east by Section No. 2 of Block VIII., Waikawa Survey District, to reserve for gold-mining purposes in said Block VIII., Waikawa Survey District; towards the south-east generally by said reserve for gold-mining, and public roads, to the road forming the northern boundary of Section No. 9, said Block VIII., Waikawa Survey District; thence by said road and the road along the coast to the eastern boundary-line of Section No. 1, Block IX., Waikawa Survey District; towards the west generally by said Section No. 1 of Block IX., Waikawa Survey District, and by mining reserve, Block VIII., Waikawa Survey District, to the southern boundary-line of the Waikawa-Otara Block before mentioned.
Also all that area in the Southland Land District, situated in Blocks II. and VII., Otara Survey District, containing by admeasurement 1,740 acres, more or less. Bounded towards the north-east generally by part of the southern boundary-line of the Waikawa-Otara Block, as described in the Schedule to the Proclamation setting apart lands for settlement under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act Amendment Act, 1891” (New Zealand Gazette No. 23, of the 30th March, 1893, pages 411 and 412), from the eastern boundary-line of Section No. 11, Block II., Otara Survey District, to the western boundary-line of Block IX., Waikawa Survey District; towards the east generally by the said Block IX., Waikawa Survey District, and by Section No. 10, Block VII., Otara Survey District, to the road reserve along the coast; towards the south by the said coast road; towards the south-west generally by road forming the eastern boundary of Section No. 2, Block VII., Otara Survey District; thence by goldfield reserve (Section No. 9), reserve for dam (Section No. 13), again by said goldfield reserve (Section No. 9), by reserve for dam (Section No. 12), and again by said goldfield reserve (Section No. 9), all of Block VII., Otara Survey District, the crossing of a public road, and thence by goldfield reserve (Section No. 20), Block II., Otara Survey District, by Sections Nos. 22 and 21, and again by said goldfield reserve, to the south-eastern corner of Section No. 15, all of said Block II., Otara Survey District; towards the west generally by said Section No. 15, by road reserve along the shore of Lake Cook, by Section No. 7, by bush reserve, the crossing of a public road, and by Section No. 11, all of Block II., Otara Survey District, to the southern boundary-line of the Waikawa-Otara Block aforesaid: exclusive of Section No. 16, Block VIII., Waikawa Survey District, which is within the above-described boundaries.
As the same are delineated upon the plan marked S.G. 49874, deposited in the Head Office, Lands and Survey Department, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this fifth day of August, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and four.
