THE following special order, made by the Woodville
County Council, is published in accordance with the
provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

WOODVILLE COUNTY COUNCIL.

Special Order.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,”
and “The Counties Act, 1886,” the Woodville County
Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the pur-
pose of providing the interest and other charges on a
loan of £600, authorised to be raised by the Woodville
County Council under the provisions of “The Local
Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for the purpose of defraying the
cost of deviating the road known as England’s Hill, and
of erecting a bridge over the Orua-Kiritaki Stream, on
Amundsen’s Road, the said Woodville County Council
hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/7d. in the pound
upon the rateable valuation of all the rateable property of
the England’s Hill Deviation and Orua-Kiritaki Bridge
Special-rating District, comprising the whole of the rateable
property within the Maharahara Riding of the Woodville
County; and that such special rate shall be an annual
recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be pay-
able yearly on the 1st day of October in each and every
year during the currency of such loan, being a period of
forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the above special order was instituted
at a special meeting of the Woodville County Council on the
2nd day of June, 1904, and confirmed at a subsequent meet-
ing of the said Council on the 7th July, 1904.

County Council, is published in accordance with
the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

KIWITEA COUNTY COUNCIL.

Special Order.

That, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in
them in that behalf by “The Loans to Local Bodies Act,
1901,” the Kiwitea County Council do hereby resolve as
follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and
other charges on a loan of £1,000, authorised to be raised by
the Kiwitea County Council under the provisions of “The
Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for the purpose of providing
half the cost of trimming and metalling, also to construct
the Mangamako Road from the end of the present metal to
junction of Signal Street, Village of Marshall, the said Kiwi-
tea County Council do hereby make and levy a special rate
of ¼d. in the pound upon the rateable valuation of all rate-
able property of the Marshall Special-rating District, com-
prising Sections 1, Block XV., Hautapu Survey District,
71, Block XV., Hautapu Survey District, and Block III.,
Apti Survey District, 73, 75, 77, 8, Block XIV., Hautapu
Survey District, 74, 76, 78, 62, 70, 72, Block II., Aplti,
Sections 1r, 1j, Pt. 1h, Otamakapua Native Reserve, 49,
2, 3, 24. 25, 1, 12, 13, 14, 5, 26, 27, 9, 20, 21, 22, 23, 16, 17, 28,
29, 30, Village of Marshall; and that such special rate shall
be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such
loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of April and
the 1st day of October in each and every year during a
period equal to the currency of such loan, being a period of
forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off. The cost
of raising the loan, and the interest for the first year, shall
be paid out of the aforesaid sum of £1,000. The interest
to be paid is at the rate of 4 per centum per annum.

I, Samuel J. Carman, Chairman of the Kiwitea County
Council, do hereby certify that the above is a true copy
of the special order adopted at a special meeting of the
Council held on the 16th April, 1904, and confirmed at a
special meeting held on the 21st May, 1904.

Port Phillip Bay.—Queenscliff Low Light.

Referring to General Notice to Mariners, Victoria, dated
24th September, 1901, page 61, mariners are hereby notified
that the red light shown from the Queenscliff Low Light-
house to mark the south-west passage of the West Channel
has been altered to a lighter shade of red in order to increase
its intensity.
