THE following special order, made by the Kihikihi Town Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

KIHIKIHI TOWN BOARD.
SPECIAL ORDER made by the Kihikihi Town Board, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and its amendments, by a resolution adopted at a special meeting of the said Board on the 16th day of May, 1904, and confirmed at a meeting of the said Board on the 15th day of June, 1904 :—
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Kihikihi Town Board hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £700, authorised to be raised by the Kihikihi Town Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of purchasing part of Allotment 167 of the Town of Kihikihi as a site for a Town Hall, and to erect thereon a building to be used as the public office of the Board and a hall for the purpose of enjoyment and recreation, the said Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of ⅜d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Kihikihi Town District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 5th day of May and the 5th day of November in each year and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of seventeen years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Borough of Avenal, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

BOROUGH OF AVENAL.
PUBLIC notice is hereby given that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Avenal duly held in the said borough on Monday, the 13th day of June, 1904, upon the proposal of the Council of the said borough hereinafter set forth, the number of votes recorded for and against the said proposal was as follows, that is to say:—
For the proposal, 39; against the proposal, 20: majority in favour of the proposal, 19.
And I, Henry Feldwick, the Mayor of the said borough, do hereby declare the said proposal to be carried.
The said proposal is as follows: (1.) Formation and metalling in North Road, Fox Street, Lowe Street, and Avenal Road; also asphalting footpaths in same streets and in Kelvin Road; and also in making concrete kerb and asphalt channel on both sides of the North Road. (2.) The sum proposed to be borrowed is £1,200, at 4½ per centum per annum. (3.) The proposed security is a special rate of 4½d. in the pound on the rateable value of property within the borough. (4.) It is proposed to pay the cost of raising the loan and the first year’s interest out of the loan. (5.) It is proposed to have twenty-four debentures of £50 each, having a currency of fifteen years, the interest and principal secured by such debentures to be made payable at the Bank of New Zealand, Invercargill.

OPOTIKI TOWN BOARD.
RESULT of poll taken on the 15th day of June, 1904, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” on the proposal of the Opotiki Town Board to borrow the sum of £300 for the purpose of the erection of a wharf and grain-shed on the Otara River:—
Number of valid votes recorded for the proposal, 65; number of valid votes recorded against the proposal, 10; informal vote, 1.
As the number of valid votes recorded in favour of the proposal is more than three-fifths of the total number of valid votes recorded at the poll, I hereby declare the said proposal carried.

Notice to Mariners No. 52 of 1904.
MINEFIELD, AUCKLAND HARBOUR.
Marine Department,
Wellington, N.Z., 27th June, 1904.
NOTICE is hereby given that a submarine minefield has been laid down off North Head, Auckland Harbour, and mariners are cautioned therefore to give the enclosed area a wide berth.
The minefield is bounded by a line drawn east for two cables from eastern rocky point of North Head, a line S. 51° E. for two cables from south point of the Head, and a line joining the seaward extremities of above, S. 28° W.
This area is marked by four red buoys.
It is notified in “New Zealand Pilot,” 7th edition, 1901, Chap. ii., on page 51, and is practically the same as that shown on the Admiralty chart of Auckland Harbour No. 1970.

CUSTOMS.—In exercise of the powers in me for this purpose vested by “The Customs Laws Consolidation Act, 1882,” I, the Commissioner of Trade and Customs, do hereby approve and appoint the undermentioned warehouse to be a warehouse for the reception of goods under bond, namely,—
Port of Auckland.
Part of the fourth floor of a brick building, with iron roof, situate on north side of Custom Street East, on Harbour Board Sections Nos. 117 and 118, to be known as
THE “ANCO” MANUFACTURING BOND.
