Notice respecting Proposed Alteration in the Boundaries of the Borough of North-east Valley, County of Waikouaiti.

PURSUANT to section 176 of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” His Excellency the Governor directs it to be notified that a petition in accordance with regulations, signed by not less than one-fourth of the electors of the area described in the Schedule hereto, has been presented to him, praying that the said area may be excluded from the Borough of North-east Valley and included in the County of Waikouaiti.

All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed alteration within one month from the first publication of this notice. Such objections or petitions are to be addressed and forwarded to the Colonial Secretary, Wellington.

SCHEDULE.

AREA PROPOSED TO BE EXCLUDED FROM THE BOROUGH OF NORTH-EAST VALLEY AND INCLUDED IN THE WAIKOUAITI COUNTY.

ALL that area in the Otago Land District, situated in Blocks VIII., IX, X., and XI., North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District, and the North-east Valley Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by original Section No. 62, Block VIII., North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District, from the westernmost corner of the said original Section No. 62 to its southernmost corner; thence towards the north-west by the said original Section No. 62 to the westernmost corner of original Section No. 48, Block VIII., North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District; thence again towards the north-east by the said original Section No. 48 to the north-western boundary-line of original Section No. 2, Block VIII., North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District; thence again towards the north-west by the north-western boundary-line of the last-mentioned section to its northernmost corner; thence again towards the north-east by the north-eastern boundary-line of the said original Section No. 2, and that boundary-line produced in a south-easterly direction to the north-western boundary-line of original Section No. 85, North-east Valley Survey District; thence towards the south-east by the last-mentioned boundary-line to the south-western boundary-line of the said original Section No. 85; thence again towards the north-east by the last-mentioned boundary-line and its production across a road to the north-western boundary-line of original Section No. 84, North-east Valley Survey District; thence again towards the south-east by the last mentioned boundary-line to the westernmost corner of the said original Section No. 84; thence again towards the north-east by the last-mentioned section, the crossing of a road, and again by original Section No. 84 and the crossing of a road, and again by original Section No. 84, and by the production of the south-western boundary-line of the said original Section No. 84 in a south-easterly direction intersecting original Section No. 33, Block IX., North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District, to the north-western boundary-line of original Section No. 2 of 4 of the said Block IX.; thence again towards the south-east by the last mentioned boundary-line to the westernmost corner of the last-mentioned section; thence again towards the north-east by the said original Section No. 2 of 4 to the northernmost corner of original Section No. 2 of 5 of the said Block IX., North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District; thence again towards the south-east by a right line from the northernmost corner of the said original Section No. 2 of 5 to Trig. Station E, Block IX., North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District, and by a right line from the said Trig. Station E to the southernmost corner of original Section No. 51, Block IX., North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District; thence towards the south-west by original Section No. 52 of the said Block IX. to Pelichet Bay; thence towards the west by Pelichet Bay to the north-western boundary-line of original Section No. 51 of the said Block IX.; thence towards the north-west by the north-western boundary-line of the last-mentioned section to its north-west corner; thence towards the south-west by Dunfermline Place (a district road) to the westernmost corner of original Section No. 50, Block IX., North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District; thence again towards the north-west by the north-western boundary-line of the last-mentioned section and that boundary-line produced to the north-eastern side of Black’s Road; thence again towards the south-west by Black’s Road to Signal Hill Road; thence again towards the north-west by the said Signal Hill Road to the northernmost corner of original Section No. 49, Block IX., North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District; thence again towards the south-west by a right line across Signal Hill Road to the south-western boundary-line of original Section No. 48 of the said Block IX., and by that boundary-line to the westernmost corner of the said original Section No. 48; thence towards the north-west by original Section No. 24, North-east Valley Survey District, 26, the abutment of a district road, by original Sections Nos. 28, 30, 32, 34, 36, and 38, to the easternmost corner of the last-mentioned section; thence again towards the south-west by the said original Section No. 38, the crossing of a road, by original Section No. 37 to the northernmost corner of the last-mentioned section; thence again towards the south-east by the said original Sections Nos. 37, 33, 31, 29, the crossing of a road, Sections Nos. 27, 25, 23, 21, 19, the crossing of a road, and again by original Sections Nos. 19, 17, 15, 13, 11, 9, 7, 5, 3, 2, 1, and 117, North-east Valley Survey District, to Pine Hill Terrace (Road); thence again towards the south-west by the said Pine Hill Terrace to Section No. 475R, Block X., North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District; thence again towards the south-west by the said Section No. 475R to a point in the north-eastern boundary-line of the last-mentioned section in line with the south-eastern boundary-line of original Section No. 5, Block X., North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District; thence towards the north-west by a right line to the last-mentioned boundary-line, and the abutment of a road to the easternmost corner of the said original Section No. 5; thence again towards the south-west by the said original Section No. 5 to the southernmost corner of original Section No. 69, Block XI., North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District; thence again towards the north-west by the said original Section No. 69 and original Section No. 67 to the easternmost corner of the last-mentioned section; thence again towards the south-west by the said original Section No. 67, the crossing of a road, by original Section No. 68 (E.R.), to its northernmost corner; thence again towards the north-west by a public road to a point in line with the south-western boundary-line of original Section No. 12, Block VIII., North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District; thence again towards the south-west by a right line to the southernmost corner of the last-mentioned section; thence again towards the north-west by original Sections Nos. 12, 13, 15, 50, 9, the crossing of a road, 10, 17, 14, 6, 5, the crossing of a road, 7, 8, 321R, again by Section No. 8, the crossing of a road, again by Sections Nos. 8, 16, 18, the crossing of a road, 37, 38, 47, and 51, Block VIII., North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District, to the northernmost corner of Section No. 61, the place of commencement.

Licensing of Vehicles: By-law made by the Kiwitea County Council.

Wellington, 16th January, 1904.

IT is hereby notified, in accordance with section 311 of “The Counties Act, 1886,” that so much of the by-law made by the Kiwitea County Council on the 17th day of October, 1903, as appoints the several sums to be paid to the Kiwitea County funds for the licensing of vehicles plying for hire for the carriage of passengers or goods within the County of Kiwitea has this day been approved by His Excellency the Governor.

Notice of the Laying-off of Road through Popotea Block.

NOTICE is hereby given, by direction of His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, under the authority of section 92 of “The Public Works Act, 1894,” that the road described in the Schedule hereto was duly taken and laid off on 12th January, 1901, through the lands specified in the said Schedule, under the authority of the Governor of the said colony, by Warrant dated the 16th May, 1900.
