Approval of Fees fixed by By-law of Local Body for Licensing of Vehicles plying for Hire.

IT is hereby notified, in accordance with section 311 of “The Counties Act, 1886,” that so much of the by-law made by the Stratford County Council as appoints the several sums to be paid to the Stratford County funds for the licensing of vehicles plying for hire for the carriage of passengers or goods within the County of Stratford has this day been approved by His Excellency the Governor.

IN pursuance of the powers conferred upon me by “The Electric Lines Act, 1884” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), and by the regulations made thereunder on the 25th March, 1895, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 4th April, 1895, the following officer at the address set against his name is hereby appointed a Transmitting and Receiving Officer for the purpose of dealing with all notices by telegraph sent under the said Act or regulations, and of signing such certificates in relation to the service of any such notices as are required or authorised to be signed or given under the said Act or the regulations aforesaid :—

Notice of Intention to take Lands for a Road through Square 86, Block XI., Hawkeswood Survey District, Cheviot County.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of “The Public Works Act, 1894,” to execute a certain work, to wit, the construction of a road through Block XI., Hawkeswood Survey District, Cheviot County, and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken. And notice is further given that the plan of the said road and of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the Post-office at Hawkeswood, and is there open for inspection. And notice is also hereby given that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land shall, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister for Public Works, Wellington.

Authorising the Laying-off of the Main Streets in the Town of Tainui of a Width of 66 ft.

IN pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by section 2 of “The Towns Main Streets Act, 1902,” I, Thomas Young Duncan, Minister of Lands, do hereby authorise the laying-off of Willow Street, Fergusson Street, Bowen Street, Alfred Street, Ranfurly Street, Crest Street, Beach Street, and Onslow Street, in the Township of Tainui, Otago Land District, of a width of 66 ft., instead of 99 ft. as prescribed by section 17 of “The Land Act, 1892.”
