AKAROA ROAD.

All that road in the Akito County, in the Wellington Land District, commencing at its junction with the Alfredton-Weber Road, in the northern corner of Section 38, Block IX., Mount Cerberus Survey District, and proceeding thence generally south-easterly to the corner of Sections 17 and 18, Block X., Mount Cerberus Survey District: as the same is delineated on the plan marked R. 5161², deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, coloured green and marked S.T. thereon.

PONGAROA-AOHANGA ROAD.

All that road in the Akito County, in the Wellington Land District, commencing at its junction with the Alfredton-Weber and the Makuri-Pongaroa Roads, in the middle of the northern boundary of Section 1, Block IX., Mount Cerberus Survey District, and proceeding thence generally south-easterly until it crosses the Aohanga River, in the south-east boundary of Section 149, Aohanga Survey District: as the same is delineated on the plan marked R. 5161², deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, coloured yellow and marked B.W. thereon.

PARAENGAHUATA ROAD.

All that road in the Akito County, in the Wellington Land District, commencing at its junction with the Alfredton-Weber Road, at the south-eastern corner of Section 10, Pongaroa Village Settlement, Mount Cerberus Survey District, and proceeding thence north-easterly through the Pongaroa Village Settlement to its junction with Section 18A, Block V., and Section 77, Block VIII, both in Mount Cerberus Survey District: as the same is delineated on the plan marked R. 5161², deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, coloured brown and marked U.V. thereon.

MANUHARA ROAD.

All that road in the Akito County, in the Wellington Land District, commencing at its junction with the Alfredton-Weber Road, near the southernmost corner of Section 7, Block IX., Mount Cerberus Survey District, and proceeding thence generally north-westerly until it junctions on to the Waipatukaka Road, in the western boundary of Section 39, Block V., Mount Cerberus Survey District (a metal reserve): as the same is delineated on the plan marked R. 5161², deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, coloured orange and marked Q.R. thereon.

WAIHI ROAD.

All that road in the Akito County, in the Wellington Land District, commencing at its junction with the Makuri-Pongaroa Road, at the south-west corner of Section 8, Block VIII., Mount Cerberus Survey District (a road reserve), and proceeding thence generally north-westerly until it reaches the northernmost corner of Section 2, Block V., Mount Cerberus Survey District: as the same is delineated on the plan marked R. 5161², deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, coloured green and marked G.H. thereon.

Declaring Junction Road, Tawhiwhi Ridge, Stratford County, a County Road.


RANFURLY, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this eleventh day of May, 1904.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE SIR J. G. WARD PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him by “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order and declare that the road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, be a county road.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that portion of the road known as Junction Road, Tawhiwhi Ridge, in the Taranaki Land District, in the Stratford County, commencing at the point where the road leaves Section 7, Block III., Ngatimaru Survey District, and crosses the confiscation line; thence proceeding in a general easterly direction through Subdivision 1A of the Pohokura Block, Block III., Ngatimaru Survey District,

to its junction with the Ohura Road, a distance of 2 miles 40 chains, or thereby: as the same is delineated on the plan marked R. 713, deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, thereon coloured red and numbered (753).

Native Land proposed to be taken for a Road through Paramata No. 2, Uawa Survey District.


RANFURLY, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this second day of May, 1904.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE SIR J. G. WARD PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken for a public work, to wit, for the purpose of a road in Paramata No. 2, Uawa Survey District:

And whereas the said land is held or occupied by Native owners under a title which is not derived from the Crown: And whereas a map in duplicate has been prepared of the said land, as required by the eighty-eighth section of “The Public Works Act, 1894”:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the eighty-eighth section of the said Act, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby declare that the land shown upon such map, and described in the Schedule hereto, shall be deemed to be taken for the purposes of the said road, and the said land vest in His Majesty the King as from the twenty-second day of June, one thousand nine hundred and four.

Removing Restrictions against Alienation of Native Land.


RANFURLY, Governor.

WHEREAS application has been made to the Governor by the owners of the land described in the Schedule hereto, praying that the restrictions on the alienation of the said land, contained in Crown grant bearing date the twenty-seventh day of June, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight, may be removed: And whereas inquiry has been duly made by the Native Land Court, and the said Court has recommended that such restrictions be removed:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon him by the fifty-second section of “The Native Land Court Act, 1894,” and in accordance with the recommendation of the Native Land Court, doth hereby order and declare that all restrictions imposed by the said Crown grant on the alienation of the said land are hereby removed.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece or parcel of land, situate in the City of Wellington, containing 16 perches, more or less, known as Lot 18, Te Aro Pa Reserve, being the land comprised in Crown grant dated the 27th day of June, 1868, in favour of Apikaira Taotao and another, and containing the following restrictions: “Inalienable, except with the consent of the Governor, by sale or mortgage, or by lease for a longer period than twenty-one years.”

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this tenth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and four.
