Captain ROBERT GEORGE TUBMAN (7th New Zealand Contingent), New Zealand Militia Active List,
be removed from the New Zealand Army List, as from 11th April, 1902, he having died on that date.

Special Order.
THAT gorse (Ulex europæus) and broom (Cytisus scoparius), being plants mentioned in the Second Schedule of “The Noxious Weeds Act, 1900,” are declared to be noxious weeds within the Makara Road District. Such special order to take effect from the date of its publication in the Government Gazette.
I hereby certify that the above special order has been made in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

THE following special order, made by the Westport Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

WESTPORT BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Special Order.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Westport Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: “That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £2,000, authorised to be raised by the Westport Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the completion of the waterworks and extension of the reticulation of water-mains within the Borough of Westport, the said Westport Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Westport—comprising all that area in the Provincial District of Nelson bounded on the northward by the high-water mark of the South Pacific Ocean; on the eastward partly by a straight line, bearing 155° 53′, drawn from the aforesaid high-water mark in the direction of Domett Street to the north-east corner of the Municipal Reserve; thence by Domett Street, 155° 53′, 625 links, 125 links, 3075 links, 125 links, and 7815 links; on the southward partly by Daniell Street (now known as Stafford Street), 245° 53′, 3800 links, 125 links, and 1100 links, partly by a continuation of Palmerston Street, 155° 53′, 500 links, and partly by a line between Sections 7A and 5 to the banks of the River Buller, bearing 245° 53′; and on the westward by the banks of the River Buller to the northern boundary as given above—and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and shall be payable half-yearly on the 3rd day of January and the 3rd day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
The foregoing special order was duly adopted at a special meeting of the Westport Borough Council held on the 25th day of March, 1904, and was duly confirmed at a special meeting of the said Council held on the 25th day of April, 1904.

WAIUKU ROAD BOARD.
Special Order making Special Rate.
IN pursuance of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Waiuku Road Board hereby resolves as follows: “That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £600 at 3½ per cent. per annum, under the provisions of ‘The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,’ for the purpose of metalling further portions of the main Waiuku-Drury Road, the said Waiuku Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1¾d. in the pound upon the rateable valuation of all the rateable property in the Waiuku Road District comprised within the following boundaries, being part of Waiuku East Parish—Starting from and including Section 47; thence in a north-east direction, following the southern boundaries of Sections 53, 54, 55, and the eastern boundaries of Sections 56, 57, 137, 133, 135, 136, and thence following the southern and eastern boundaries of Hamlin’s Grant K, 130; thence along the road on the eastern boundaries of Lots 130c, 130r, 153, 154; and thence along the tramway and following the boundary-line dividing the Waiuku and Mauku Road Districts to the Mauku Creek; thence along its southern shore to its confluence with the Waiuku Estuary; thence along its eastern bank to a point in Taylor’s Creek, being the northern corner of Lot 159; and thence along the western boundary of Lot 48 to the point of commencement in Lot 47: all being part of Waiuku East Parish—and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of July and the 1st day of December in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
