Order of Native Appellate Court determining the Ownership of the Tokaanu Native Township, under "The Native Townships Act, 1895."

THE following order of the Native Appellate Court, determining the ownership of the Tokaanu Native Township, is published for general information.

IN THE NATIVE APPELLATE COURT, NEW ZEALAND, AUCKLAND DISTRICT. TOKAANU TOWNSHIP.

In the matter of the Native land called or heretofore known as the Tokaanu Township, and of the investigation of the title thereto.

AT a sitting of the Court held at Tokaanu on the 9th day of December, 1903, before William James Butler and Henry Dunbar Johnson, Esquires, Judges, and Hohepa Mataitaua, Assessor:

Upon appeal it is hereby ordered that the Natives whose names are set out in the first column of the Schedule attached hereto, and therein numbered respectively from 1 to 235, both inclusive, are, and they are hereby declared to be, the owners of the parcel of land to be called or known as the Tokaanu Township, containing 490 acres, and delineated on the plan numbered W.D. 1538, in the relative proportions set out after the name of each of them respectively in the second column of the said Schedule.

As witness the hands of George Boutflower Davy, Esq., Chief Judge (for and on behalf of William James Butler, deceased, Judge) and Henry Dunbar Johnson, Esq., Judge, and the Seal of the Court.
