Also that road in the Wellington Land District known as the Puke Road, which commences at its junction with the Gorge and Puhirua Roads, and runs generally in a south-easterly direction for a distance of 2 miles 5 chains or thereabouts to the end of the present dray-road formation, along frontages of Sections 38 and 39, Block III., and Section 1, Block IV., Hautapu Survey District; as the said road is delineated on the plan marked R. 5161⁵, deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, thereon coloured red and numbered 28.
Also that portion of the road known as Tuhoe Road, in the Wellington Land District, from its junction with the Puke Road, running in a southerly direction to the end of the present dray-road formation, intersecting Section 43, Block III., Hautapu, a distance of 12 chains or thereabouts; as the said portion of road is more particularly delineated on the plan marked R. 5161⁵, deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, thereon coloured red and numbered 29.
Also all that portion of the road in the Wellington Land District known as the Kaingaroa Road, in the Counties of Hawke’s Bay and Rangitikei, commencing at its junction with the Pukeokahu Road, and extending in a south-westerly direction for a distance of 1 mile 45 chains or thereabouts, intersecting Awarua No. 1c Block, and fronting Sections 10, 9, 8, and 7, Block IX., Pukeokahu Survey District, being about 1 mile 12 chains of its length from its starting-point in Hawke’s Bay County and 33 chains or thereabouts in the Rangitikei County; as the said road is more particularly delineated on the plan marked R. 5161⁵, deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, thereon coloured red and numbered 30.
Also that portion of the road in the Wellington Land District known as Hiwera Road, commencing at its junction with the Moawhango Valley Road, and running in an easterly direction for a distance of 1 mile 41 chains or thereabouts, bounding Sections 15 and 7, Block XVI., Ohinewairua Survey District; as the same is delineated on the plan marked R. 5161⁵, deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, thereon coloured red and numbered 31.
Also that portion of the road in the Wellington Land District known as Mangawharariki Road, which commences at the Mangateweka Stream, at the Mangaweka Township, and runs in an easterly direction along frontages of Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 27, Block X., Hautapu Survey District, to the Rangitikei River Crossing, a distance of 76½ chains or thereabouts; as the same is delineated on the plan marked R. 5161⁵, deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, coloured red thereon and numbered 32.
Also all that road known as Cage Road, in the Wellington Land District, commencing at Mangawharariki Road, and running in a north-easterly direction through the Rakautoru Village Settlement for a distance of 45¾ chains or thereabouts, past Sections 22, 23, 24, to the angle in the road at Section 25, Block X., Hautapu Survey District; as the said road is more particularly delineated on the plan marked R. 5161⁵, deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red and numbered 33.
Also that portion of the road known as Weston Road, situated in the Wellington Land District, County of Rangitikei, and extending in a northerly direction from its junction with the main road from Ohingaiti to Mangaweka for a distance of 1 mile 35 chains or thereabouts, intersecting Block Pouwhakarua No. 2, and entering Section No. 8, Block IX., Hautapu, extending to the end of the present dray-road formation; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked R. 5161⁵, deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, thereon coloured red and numbered 34.
Also all that portion of the Mangamahoe Road, in the Wellington Land District, in the Rangitikei County, commencing at its junction with the Turakina Valley Road opposite Section 4, Block V., Tiriraukawa, and running thence in an easterly direction through Pohonuiatane 3B, 3, 4, and Pohonuiatane 3E Blocks to the southern boundary of Section 9, Block VI., Tiriraukawa, and proceeding thence generally in a northerly direction along frontages Sections 3C, 27, 26, 18, 13, and 10, Block VI., and 17, 16, and 15, to northern boundary of Section 14, Block II., Tiriraukawa, a distance of 11 miles 16 chains or thereabouts; as the same is delineated on the plan marked R. 5161⁶, deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, thereon coloured red and numbered 37.

Declaring Roads in Upper Wangaehu Road District to be District Roads.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this fifteenth day of April, 1904.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him by “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order and declare that the roads described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, be district roads.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that road in the Wellington Land District, in the Counties of Wanganui and Hawke’s Bay, Blocks VI. and VII., Ohinewairua Survey District, and known as Moawhango–Te Horo Road, commencing at its junction with the Ohingaiti–Waiouru Road at Te Horo, and proceeding thence in an easterly direction for a distance of about 1 mile 25 chains in the Wanganui County to the boundary between the Wanganui and Hawke’s Bay Counties, and continuing in the same direction for a distance of 5 miles 15 chains or thereabouts in the Hawke’s Bay County to the Moawhango River Ford; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked R. 5161⁴, deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, coloured red thereon and numbered 10.
Also all that road known as the Waiparuparu Road, in the Wellington Land District, in the Wanganui County, commencing at its junction with the Hautapu Valley Road, and running thence in a north-easterly direction through the Hautapu Improved-farm Settlement, and along frontages of Sections 14, 12, 11, 3, Block IX., and 10, 7, 2, Block X., Ohinewairua Survey District, to its junction with the Pongaroa Road, a distance of 2 miles 19 chains or thereabouts; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked R. 5161⁵, deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, thereon coloured red and numbered 11.
Also all that road known as the Pongaroa Road, in the Wellington Land District, in the Wanganui County, commencing at the Hautapu River Ford, and proceeding thence in a north-easterly direction along frontages of Sections 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2A, Hautapu Improved-farm Settlement, Blocks IX. and X., Ohinewairua Survey District, to its junction with the Ohingaiti–Waiouru Road, a distance of 2 miles 69 chains or thereabouts; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked R. 5161⁵, deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, thereon coloured red and numbered 12.
Also the whole length of that road known as the Hautapu Valley Road, in the Wellington Land District, in the County of Wanganui, from its junction with the Taihape–Paengaroa Road, and thence in a north-westerly direction to the northern boundary of 7A, Block IX., Ohinewairua Survey District, at the Hautapu Ford, a distance of 1 mile 25 chains or thereabouts; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked R. 5161⁵, deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, coloured red thereon and numbered 13.
Also all that road in the Wellington Land District, in the County of Wanganui and County of Rangitikei, in Block XVI., Maungakaretu Survey District, from its junction with Murray’s Track at Mataroa Township, thence in a southerly direction in the Wanganui County for a distance of 40 chains, more or less, to the boundary of the Wanganui and Rangitikei Counties, continuing in the same direction in the Rangitikei County for a distance of 76 chains to traverse peg XXXVII., opposite Section 7, Block XVI., Maungakaretu Survey District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked R. 5161⁵, deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, then coloured red and numbered 17.
Also that road in the Wellington Land District, in the County of Wanganui, from its junction with the Mataroa Road, proceeding in a southerly direction along the frontages of Sections 3 and 4, Block XVI., Maungakaretu, to the boundary of the Wanganui and Rangitikei Counties, being a distance of 60 chains or thereabouts; as the said road is more particularly delineated on the plan marked R. 5161⁵, deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, thereon coloured red and numbered 18.
