SCHEDULE.

All that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 3 acres and 15 perches, more or less, being Section No. 8 of Block XV., Orahiri Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by the Main Trunk Railway, 1894 links; and towards the south-west generally by a public road along the eastern bank of the Mangaokewa Stream, 2128 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 51796, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red. For railway purposes.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-fourth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and four.

Lands temporarily reserved in the Auckland Land District.

RANFURLY, Governor.

WHEREAS by the two-hundred-and-thirty-fifth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the lands in the Auckland Land District described in the Schedule hereunder written, for the purposes in the said Schedule specified at the end of the descriptions of the lands so intended to be temporarily reserved.


SCHEDULE.

All that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 5 acres, more or less, being Section No. 231A of the Parish of Waipu. Bounded towards the east generally by a public road, and towards the south-east, south-west, and north-west by Section No. 195A of the Parish of Waipu: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 51764, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured purple. For a site for a public school.

All that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 21 acres, more or less, being Section No. 195A of the Parish of Waipu. Bounded towards the north-east generally by a public road, and by Section No. 231A of the Parish of Waipu; towards the south-west by Sections Nos. 313 and 363 of the said parish; and towards the north-west generally by a public road: as the same is delineated on plan marked S.G. 51764A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red. For a recreation reserve.

Rural Lands in Westland Land District open for Selection on Lease in Perpetuity.

RANFURLY, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirty-sixth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on and after the twenty-seventh day of April, one thousand nine hundred and four; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may be selected on lease in perpetuity only, in accordance with the provisions of section one hundred and twenty-one of the said Act, as they contain, or are supposed to contain, metal, mineral, or valuable stone; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1892.”

POERUA SURVEY DISTRICT.

Weighted with £29, valuation for improvements.

About half of section is steep and broken, containing kamahi, &c., with a dense undergrowth of supplejack and fern; the remainder contains white-pine, &c. Good soil; well watered. Altitude, 300 ft. above sea-level. The improvements consist of fencing, clearing, and grassing.

MAHINAPUA SURVEY DISTRICT.

Weighted with £97 6s., valuation for improvements.

Situated about thirteen miles from Hokitika and three miles from a dairy factory. About three-quarters of section consists of rich dry soil; balance swampy, and covered with light bush; the swamp is easily drained. Altitude, 100 ft. above sea-level. The improvements comprise fencing, clearing, grassing, and a hut.

WATAROA SURVEY DISTRICT.

Flat throughout. About 140 acres small totara, mixed bush, and black scrub, the remainder mostly rushes. Soil good; well watered. Altitude, 300 ft. above sea-level. Thirty-six miles from Ross by main road. Improvements comprise fencing, clearing, and grassing.

Flat throughout. About half of section covered with matai, totara, ribbonwood, black scrub, and manuka. Soil good; 38 acres light soil, and about 20 acres manuka swamp; well watered. Altitude, 280 ft. above sea-level. Thirty-seven miles from Ross by main road. Improvements are hut, fencing, clearing, and grassing.

Flat throughout. 175 acres bush of totara, manuka, and black scrub; about 30 acres cleared and 21 acres open. Western half of section is dry soil, very fair facing the river; the eastern half is wet, soil poor. Altitude, 290 ft. above sea-level. Thirty-six miles from Ross by main road. Improvements consist of fence, clearing, and grassing.

MAHINAPUA SURVEY DISTRICT.

Weighted with £27 10s., valuation for improvements.

Situated about thirteen miles from Hokitika, and about three miles from a dairy factory. About 65 acres is rich dry ground, the rest being swamp, which is easily drained, leaving good soil. White-pine and koromiko on dry ground. Altitude, about 100 ft. above sea-level. Improvements comprise bushfelling and grassing.

KANIERI SURVEY DISTRICT.

Weighted with £20 valuation for improvements.

Situated about twelve miles from Hokitika, and one mile and a half from Kokatahi Village and dairy factory. The bulk of the section is wet swamp, but soil is good, and easily drained. There is about 30 acres of white-pine timber upon it. Altitude, about 100 ft. above sea-level. Improvements are 10 acres felled and grassed.
